Hergott's
The Hergott's were formed shortly after the cataclysm. They believed that misuse of magic lead to the downfall of society and was the catalyst of the cataclysm. They believe that avoiding use of magic should return the world to it's former self, and hoped that that way of thinking would stop the Maelstrom. With the introduction of science and mechanical inventions, they have adopted their beliefs to also shun use of the sciences and mechanical devices for help in their daily life.
They recognize that others in the world rely on use of sciences and magics, so they do not shun those who use such things, but within their community they don't allow utilization of either. While they don't live their lives entirely separated from society, they are mostly self sufficient, and only need to trade outside of their community for small additions to what they can produce themselves.
Most of the society stays within their community, but there are a few radicals who have moved from their main settlement to try and spread their word amongst the greater populace. While most of these radicals are looked down upon the remainder of their ilk, some will still return to their society and head out to spread their beliefs periodically.
