Crimson Circle Forward Base
The temporary settlement of the Crimson Circle. Comprised of tents and packable equipment (some traditional, but most are clockwork or Arcane) In an emergency the base can be packed up and moved in as quick as 15 minutes.
The leader of the forward base is Dusty Myrna Toadstealer. As second in command of the crimson circle, she commands absolute authority over the forward base. She uses a mix of stone shape, move earth, and earthquake to create a habitable cave system to build the base, and when the circle is done with their base and ready to move, she uses earthquake to collapse the tunnel system.
The base is generally the same (some adjustments for natural pockets found within the ground) but the layout generally consists of the following:
1. Front Guard Post - The entrance tunnel ends at a defensible spot for the guards. Typically, there are ledges that the guards can have elevated lookouts that look toward the entrance tunnel.
2. Infirmary - Usually found near the front guard post, so casualties can be brought here immediately after entering the tunnel system. Often stocked with healing herbs and typical medical supplies.
3. Natural Hot Spring - When scouting the location to create the tunnel Myrna will utilize her natural stone sense abilities to find natural springs, or underground rivers to utilize as a place for the circle members to keep clean.
4. Assault Team Station - When preparing to go on raids, the chosen members of the assault team will have separate preparation area. This allows their porter to prepare a location to come and go from.
5. Myrn Toadstealer Tent - When creating the tunnel system she will create a secluded cave in a somewhat central location. From here if she needed to she could cast earthquake to bring the whole cavern down to protect the circle if they were assaulted.
6. General Camp - With the somewhat transient nature of the camp, there can be any number of people here, so Myrna will create a wide open cavern for all the various inhabitants to stay. Typically this is flat enough that bedrolls on the cavern floor are sufficient. Often camp fires are found as a source of light and warmth within the space.
7. Storage - Keeping most of the stores in a central location make the camp easier to pack up when they need to leave. This is usually found near the rear guard post.
8. Armory and Mess - The various "shops" are found here. They provide the inhabitants with a place to repair and replace weapons and armor, and restock for raids. There's also a public mess tent where anyone can get the food when here.
9. Strategic Planning - During the day this is where Myrna can be found, as she needs to keep a finger on everyone and everything that's happening in the base. From here she can organize raids, and stay on top of supplies.
10. Rear Guard Post - As an emergency exit, Myrna will setup a second cave system that runs deep and usually connect with natural caves in the region. This guard post protects from natural predators that may find their way into the base. This is usually a less defensible location than the front guard post, but typically sees more people during the day. As such there are often training areas and sparring pits that are setup for the circle members to get excercise and stay focused.
