RPG News Roundup 12-9-2023
Hello, this is the RPG Crawler and welcome to my RPG News Roundup, this time for December 9th 2023, where each week I take a look back at the weekend in tabletop, computer, and console role playing game news and bring you the highlights.
With that let's take a look at computer and console role playing game news. It looks like Square Enix has announced a new entry into the Mana Series. Visions of Mana will be released for the PS4 PS5 Xbox Series and the PC, unfortunately not the Switch and it looks to be inspired by the Trials of Mana remake from a few years ago. No release date has been set yet.
It also looks like Skyrim, the by-now classic role playing game, has recently received a large update across platforms. This update includes support for a new paid mods program, different from the last one. It looks like they were trying to keep this one under the radar until it launched. We'll have to see how this one goes in the future.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is getting a DLC on December 12th, called Upheaval in Jingxiang. It should be the last DLC available in the season pass, and will include a new general, stages, weapon type, armor, enemies, and more.
Free to play fantasy life sim MMO Palia will release for Nintendo Switch on December 14th. It has been on pc in beta for a while now. It is set in a world where humans are a legendary race and players have to befriend NPCs, and covers support for both active exploration and investigation and simply enjoying the quiet village life.
Then, tactical mercenary RPG Wartales is getting a DLC on December 14th. Called Pirates of Belerion it will feature an archipelago as well as a new 25 hour adventure on the seas, with new factions, and a new travel mechanism.
Also releasing on December 14th is Snowman Story. It will be a role playing game where you play a snowman who has come to life thanks to a lonely boy in need of a playmate. He must then find his way north to avoid melting away when the weather warms. It has been available on mobile platforms for a few years now.
Momodora: Moonlit Farewell, latest in the Momodora series has been set for release on PC on January 11th of next year. It'll have you following the high priestess Momo as she sets out to save her people from the demons that were summoned by the ringing of a bell.
Eastward is getting new dlc Octopia on January 31st. Set in a parallel world from the main game, where there is no miasma, it will focus on farming sim game play, letting you spend time with other protagonists to repair a farm and nearby town.
March 22nd will see Rise of the Ronin released on the PS5. It looks like it’ll be an action rpg from Team Ninja, set in 19th century Japan. You’ll play a ronin during a chaotic period in history.
Early next year should see No Rest for the Wicked entering early access. It looks like it’ll be an action RPG for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, where the player is on an island after a king has died and a plague is spreading. It will include online co-op.
It looks like historically based RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance is getting a release on the Switch. It has been available on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One for a few years now. It looks like it will be getting a physical and digital release on the Switch and include all the DLC released already.
Monster Hunter Wilds is set for 2025, targeting the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. It’ll be another entry in the Monster Hunter series, although details beyond that are sparse.
The First Berserker: Khazan has been announced, although without a release window. Set for the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, it’ll be a single player action RPG set in the Dungeon & Fighter universe, which will follow a general that has been accused of treason.
A new sci-fi role playing game has been announced from Archetype Entertainment, a development studio owned by Wizards of the Coast. Called Exodus it will be a story driven RPG in an original universe and will be targeting the PC PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S. No release window has been given yet.
Turn based rogue light The Land Beneath Us has a publishing partner now. PID games will be working with Fair Play Studios to release it next year, targeting the PS5, XBox Series X/S and the Switch. It is a turn based dungeon crawler influenced by Welsh Myth.
As far as actual releases go, Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis saw its release. It is a JRPG that is free to play that combines various elements from other Final Fantasy VII properties. It features a young Sephiroth. Also, Final Fantasy XVI had the first of two DLC planned for it released. Echoes of the Fallen will include a new story, new battles, weapons, accessories, and a higher level cap, among other things.
Baldur’s Gate III got its release on Xbox Series X/S. Initially just slated to have its release date announced, they just decided to go ahead and push it out. It has been available on PC and PS5 for a while now.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader saw its release. A classic RPG from Owlcat Games, based on the Games Workshop franchise, it has you setting forth in your own personal voidship, traveling about the Koronus Expanse, looking for profit.
Legends of Amberland II: The Song of Trees saw its release. Inspired by classic first person RPGs like Might and Magic, Wizardry, and so forth, it features an heroic, fairy tale esque adventure with humorous elements. There is a demo available.
Svarog’s Dream is is a classic isometric style rpg where you play a soul awakened in the Underworld, who must discover who they were while inhabiting various hosts to make your mark on the world.
Born of Bread is a party based 2.5D RPG where you play a flour-golem in a humorous world with a cooking theme.
Faeland hit early access, and is a side scrolling adventure RPG inspired by 8 bit classics. You play a hunter, heading through the lands, unlocking new abilities, which unlocks more of the world to look through. So… metroidvania style.
Soulash 2 is in early access. It is a sandbox rpg roguelike that features a procedurally generated open world, and a skill based progression system. It has crafting, building, and trading elements as well. There is a demo available.
Shadows of Rogue: The Sorcerer’s Curse is a roguelite where you face off against hordes of enemies and bosses, picking up items and such. It looks like one of those survivors style games with an 8 bit aesthetic.
Then, Endless Glory is a sort of strategy rpg based on a stage based progression. You lead your army, strengthen it, upgrade skills and spells, equip gear, but you do not have direct control over your army besides that.
Curse of Blood is an action RPG set in a corrupted land, where you work against various vampires and werewolves to prevent the coming of the Blood Moon.
Finally, Another Dungeon Game is what it says on the tin, another action rpg hack and slash romp through a dungeon, with random loot, skill trees, all designed for casual play.
With that, we will move on to tabletop role playing game news. And we'll start with Pathfinder second edition legacy bundle over on humble bundle. It looks like it's a collection of the old Pathfinder 2nd edition material that is slowly being faded out. Proceeds go to the Comic Books for Kids charity, which looks to provide kid friendly comics and coloring books to children and teens in hospitals and cancer centers in North America.
Then, it appears as though Shadowrun is getting its first edition reprinted by a Catalyst Game Lab. I wonder if they are going to adjust any of the old material to a modern audience.
R. Talsorian Games looks like they are releasing Shadow Scar in 2024. It looks to be a multi-dimensional, anime-inspired role playing game previously called Project Blue Moon. It is designed by Cody Pondsmith who was the lead designer on the Witcher role playing game and a co designer on a Cyberpunk RED.
Samurai Sheepdog has S Class Characters: Bravos for Pathfinder 1st edition. It features an updated Bravo's class with features and rules, new fighting techniques, four new guiles, as well as a favored class bonuses in a full 20 level S-class.
PetDM has a few offerings for 5th edition. There is A Witch in Distress a first level adventure featuring a witch coming into a contact with a party while fleeing some mercenaries. Then there is The Truthseeker, a level 12 adventure featuring intrigue and mystical revelations. When the king receives a cryptic prophecy and then sends the party to the whispering Woods to consult an enigmatic witch. There’s also One Shot Dungeons, which includes 5 short 5th edition dungeons.
Menagerie Press has Menagerie of Adventures a collection of four 5th edition adventures. There is Temple of Misfortune a low level adventure featuring a bandit hideout and a haunted temple. Then there is Ghoul Cove, Descent into Mirefen, and Adul, City of Gold.
Cavern Crawls #30 Shivering Palace is a 3rd level 5th edition adventure where the party is hired by a Tricksy fae creature to rid the Fae Queen's palace of monsters.
Shadow over Wintertide is a 5th edition adventure where the party gets lost in the Iron Crown Mountains. They dream of a Winter's Eve festival while a snowstorm makes them doubt if they will live through the night. They are later lured into a mining village.
Of Iron and Thorns: the Palace of the Walls that Scream is a 5th edition adventure taking place in the Of Iron and Thorns campaign setting based on historical Italy.
The Sorcerer in the Fells is another 5th edition adventure. One deals with a small village that has been terrorized by a monster named Grom. Every five years the monster claims one of the villagers children as a sacrifice. It was once a mighty sorcerer and has begun to reclaim its powers over time.
The Case of the Curious Chart, from Only Crits, is an adventure beginning at level 6 designed to be a seafaring adventure with a light hearted nature and a focus on mystery.
Plains of Storm is a 5th edition regional supplement that focuses on an area riddled with ethereal storms. It includes locations, factions and new creatures.
Roll for Christmas is a 5th edition one shot adventure that is seasonally themed. It involves a sleigh crash next to the players on Christmas Eve, when they are drawn to help Pirate Santa deliver the last two presents. Unfortunately mischievous snow fairies are lurking to stop them.
Gaxland has two offerings in the Shadows Over Lake Geneva series. Each is designed for 5th edition but for a more modern setting. The first, The Beast of Bray Road is set in 1948 in Lake Geneva, WI. A murder occurs during a full moon and the footprint of a large beast is found near the scene. Then, A Sanguine Horror is also set in 1948 Lake Geneva. It has a body discovered in Oak Hill Cemetery which has had a stake driven through his heart.
The Dark Below, from Critical Crafting, is a 5th edition supplement focusing on subterranean elements. It includes a monster template, 5 stat blocks, five encounters, some maps, items, grafts, spells, a couple new player races, a new subclass, feats, lore, and much more.
Legendary Games has Legendary Bestiaries: Mediterranean Monsters, a collection of creatures from across the Mediterranean sea for fifth edition. It looks like it includes creatures of myth from southern Europe and northern Africa.
Roles and Rolls: Tome of Shadow Organizations is a 5th edition supplement that features several organizations meant for NPCS and other villains. It includes 17 fully detailed factions, 46 villain and arch villain NPCs, 28 henchmen, maps, and more. They also have Book of Dangers, a compendium of dangers for DMs to throw at their players.
The Vakhari is a playable dwarf race for fifth edition, dealing with a type of seafaring dwarves known for mastery of the waters.
Then, The Tamer is a new homebrew class for fifth edition, designed around taming and commanding creatures. It is a half caster type class that tames monstrous spirits after defeating foes.
Ghostly Monsters for Fantasy from RPGGamer is a collection of several spirit creatures. It comes in fifth edition, Shadowdark, and Dragonbane versions.
EN publishing has Gate Pass Gazette issue 20 for Level Up: Advanced Fifth Edition. It is an issue of their magazine featuring material for their system, this time with corruption mechanics, among other material.
Elvin Tower has a couple offerings for the Shadowdark RPG system. There is Dungeon Vault magazine number 40, which includes a compilation of adventures, lore, maps, and other useful things. Then there is Gaze of the Solemn Sire, a level 4 Shadowdark adventure, that features characters finding themselves at a crossroads with no clear path. They require a powerful weapon or a crucial piece of information, when they learn of an elusive entity said to have aided those in need in the past.
Arcanum RPG studio has Darkwoods Heart of Silver. It is designed for Shadowdark rpg and has a mining camp attacked by a seemingly indestructible monster. The party must find a way to defeat the beast.
Goodman Games has a few offerings for Dungeon Crawl Classics day 2023. There is the adventure pack which includes two adventures for 1st and 2nd level characters for the DCC system. It is a free offering. There is also Crash of the Titans for mutant crawl classics. It is a 3rd level adventure where the party is tasked with exploring the remnants of an ancient city to recover a powerful artifact. Meanwhile they discover two massive monsters battling for dominance within the ruins.
Savage AfterWorld has Country Meat-Grinder Classics: Harvest of the Wytch. It is a DCC RPG compatible adventure in the grindhouse horror genre suitable for second level characters.
Necromancer games has a couple offerings to supplement their essential horror series for old school essentials. There is Tables of Essential Horrors, a set of 25 plus tables from the Tome of Essential horrors Kickstarter campaign. They also have Classes of Essential Healing, featuring the healer class as well as a few subclasses such as the apothecary, hospitaller, and the soul witch. They also have the Bundle of Essential Horrors which includes these two products with the Tome of Essential Horrors monster book.
Bloat games has three adventures for Dark Places & Demogorgons for old school essentials. There is Two Minutes to Midnight, an adventure meant to take place in two acts which features the players gathering clues to mundane missing items, only to have one hour of real time to decipher the clues and stop a malicious ritual from happening. They also have Terror of Taylor's Lake, an urban horror adventure module for 1st to 2nd level characters featuring a series of locations around a lake where some high school students have gone missing. Finally they have Camp Dread which deals with camp Dreamaway, a summer camp situated on top of a large hill near a clear lake. This year a vampire is waking up from a sleep and is on the hunt.
Trollgodfather Press has When Gods Die, a campaign in several parts dealing with the Kingdom of Brithos. It also has a mini-grimoire of additional spells, an overview of the village of Sanctuary, and a series of connected adventures designed to prepare the pcs for another upcoming event. It is designed to be compatible with Monsters! Monsters!
The Verdant is a new playbook for dungeon world focused on a plant focused nature powered playable creature.
Gallant Knight games has Tiny Tome of Terrors, a Halloween release featuring a dozen new monsters compatible with the TinyD6 rule set.
Ganesha games has Treacheries of the Troublesome Towns, an advanced supplement for Four Against Darkness that features full town adventure generation. It includes two books: one with rules to generate towns, and one with the tables and the book of secrets for play within them.
City of Red Waters from Evil Hat Productions is an alternate setting for the Blades in the Dark RPG. It includes new heritages, backgrounds, vices, crew types, and more. It features a bustling colonial metropolis with an unpleasant history.
Asteria is a story based system neutral fantasy setting for tabletop role playing games. It includes details for an island with cities, mazes, magic, monsters, and various adventures.
Lizard Folk of Sorrowvine Swamp is an adventure for Odysseys and Overlords 2nd edition. Designed for seasoned players, it features the party being contacted by a client interested in retrieving books and historical documents from Sorrowvine Keep.
Mausritter: Traitors Torrent is an adventure for the Mausritter RPG, It features a settlement where a trader is a few days overdue, and strange figures and distant voices are rumored to come from the nearby forest.
Better Latte Than Never is a Savage Worlds Adventure Edition pulp action role playing game. It explores the files of the British Secret Intelligence Service dealing with Nazi Pseudoscience, Shadowy conspiracies, miracles, magic, supernatural creatures, aliens, etc.
Whalgravaak’s Warehouse is a Troika adventure featuring a dungeon crawl in an interdimensional warehouse, towering over the bad part of Troika, long abandoned and supposedly still filled with stuff.
Call of Cthulhu: Alone Against the Static is a modern era scenario for 1990s designed for solo play with the Call of Cthulhu Ruleset. Set in the Dakota Black Hills, you play one of two existing characters that have their own choices to make during the playthrough.
Eldritch Apocalypse is a standalone scenario for the Tricube Tales system inspired by things like Buffy, Ash vs. Evil Dead, Dresden Files, etc, that deals with a top secret organization investigating paranormal events.
Legions of Carcosa: The Yellow King Bestiary is a supplement designed to help create creatures suitable for The Yellow King Roleplaying Game, with 86 new foes, 100 new shock and injury cards, hooks, and so forth.
Cloud Empress: Land of Cicadas is part of the Cloud Empress campaign setting for the Mothership Sci-Fi horror rpg. There’s also a Year One adventure bundle that includes the first five adventures for the setting.
Mongoose has The Deep and the Dark for Traveller RPG. It features the Celalla Nebula and the Reaver’s Deep, two sectors at the border between human and Aslan space.
Scoundrels of Brixton: The Clean Hands is another entry in the Scoundrels of Brixton series of sci-fi campaign setting material. This one includes details on a smuggling firm on the lookout for new henchmen, as well as a company town rife with corruption.
Star Trek Adventures: A House By Any Other Name is an adventure scenario where the players play the crew of a Klingon vessel, who have been called to a recently conquered subject race which has sent out distress calls and claims of invasion.
The Super Hack Deluxe is a superhero based game utilizing a simple OSR style ruleset, detailed explanations, all with full color illustrations.
Finally, Evil Genius Games has The Vault Rules Compendium Volume 1, for Everyday Heroes. It includes a year’s worth of various new rules, including new classes, rules for creating and playing mechs and tiny heroes, various cybernetic implants, rules for playing heroes from level 0 to level 20 and beyond, various NPCs, gm tools, etc.

This week a couple computer role playing games and rpg adjacent titles caught my eye
We will start with Trash Goblin, billed as Goblin Etsy the video game. It has you playing a goblin that scrounges up items to restore and then sell onward.
Then there's Bloodline, a new entry in the Strength and Virtue RPG series. It is built with a heavily modified RPG Maker engine and looks to carry on the political intrigue and family interconnection of the prior titles.
Art of the Genre is looking to fund another entry in their Folio series. A Realm of Globes and Pillars is going to be the final part of the Virgin Mine Mega Dungeon with both 1st edition and 5th edition mechanics.
Micro Dungeons winter edition 2023 looks to be a collection of 5th edition compatible micro dungeon crawling adventures with a winter or Christmas theme. Similar to their prior collections this one will fund both the Micro Dungeons winter 2023 book as well as Micro Dungeons XI.
The Giant's blessing will be a one shot 5th edition adventure featuring an icy undead horde invading an area. It looks like it will focus on themes of charity and faith.
The Tower of Fools will be a 10th level 5th edition adventure featuring a tower built at the edge of a mysterious village. Eilran the enlightened, a wizard, has gone mad, and while losing his mind has decided to create a fortress that will operate as a puzzle as well.
Echoes of Frost will be a fifth edition adventure set in an endless winter. Set in the Grimfel grim dark campaign setting it is suited for four to six players. It looks like they are also funding a novella to go with it.
The Dragon's Heir will be a dragon based 5th edition adventure. It begins with the death of a platinum dragon which creates a power vacuum in Dragon Society. She has one last egg which may be the final hope for dragon kind.
Ars Mechanica: The Frozen Enigma will be a 5th edition supplement in the Ars Mechanica steampunk style setting. This one will feature a theocracy steeped in tradition and religion where technological advancements have been slow, and the predominant focus is on faith as well as the preservation of ancestral customs.
Of Iron and Thorns: Dead Skin Masks will be a 5th edition adventure set in a world of twisted horror based on historical Italy. This one will be set in Modena, where an artist has recently passed, taking with him the art of creating Modenese golems.
How to be an Undead in D&D 5E looks to be a supplement that is exactly what it says on the tin. It looks to let you create undead characters. It will have three types of undead to play: ghouls, zombies, and skeletons.
Meta Domain clerics will be a fourth wall based cleric subclass, featuring new spells and items, as well as creatures. It features clerics that think they live in the game, can even learn their player’s name, and have an adjustable magical book.
Rabid Dogs Zine volume 2 looks to be a DCC RPG compatible zine with new classes equipment and rules variants. It looks to include slot based encumbrance rules, a streamlined piecemeal fantasy armor system, a new approach to languages, expanded weapons and equipment, and more.
The Isle of Sedra looks like it will be a setting source book with supporting adventures for old school essentials. The isle itself will be located in an ocean and form a regional campaign setting small enough to be manageable while still containing a variety of adventures. It will include supplemental information for existing solitaire adventures, and include conversions of books originally written for The Fantasy Trip.
Free League will be producing The Electric State RPG. Set in up an apocalyptic alternate 1990s it will be influenced by the same artist that inspired previous offerings such as Tales From the Loop.
Finally there is Enlightened: a tabletop role playing game it will be a rules light book featuring a play setting called the Twilight of the Fae.

With that let's take a look at computer and console role playing game news. It looks like Square Enix has announced a new entry into the Mana Series. Visions of Mana will be released for the PS4 PS5 Xbox Series and the PC, unfortunately not the Switch and it looks to be inspired by the Trials of Mana remake from a few years ago. No release date has been set yet.
It also looks like Skyrim, the by-now classic role playing game, has recently received a large update across platforms. This update includes support for a new paid mods program, different from the last one. It looks like they were trying to keep this one under the radar until it launched. We'll have to see how this one goes in the future.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is getting a DLC on December 12th, called Upheaval in Jingxiang. It should be the last DLC available in the season pass, and will include a new general, stages, weapon type, armor, enemies, and more.
Free to play fantasy life sim MMO Palia will release for Nintendo Switch on December 14th. It has been on pc in beta for a while now. It is set in a world where humans are a legendary race and players have to befriend NPCs, and covers support for both active exploration and investigation and simply enjoying the quiet village life.
Then, tactical mercenary RPG Wartales is getting a DLC on December 14th. Called Pirates of Belerion it will feature an archipelago as well as a new 25 hour adventure on the seas, with new factions, and a new travel mechanism.
Also releasing on December 14th is Snowman Story. It will be a role playing game where you play a snowman who has come to life thanks to a lonely boy in need of a playmate. He must then find his way north to avoid melting away when the weather warms. It has been available on mobile platforms for a few years now.
Momodora: Moonlit Farewell, latest in the Momodora series has been set for release on PC on January 11th of next year. It'll have you following the high priestess Momo as she sets out to save her people from the demons that were summoned by the ringing of a bell.
Eastward is getting new dlc Octopia on January 31st. Set in a parallel world from the main game, where there is no miasma, it will focus on farming sim game play, letting you spend time with other protagonists to repair a farm and nearby town.
March 22nd will see Rise of the Ronin released on the PS5. It looks like it’ll be an action rpg from Team Ninja, set in 19th century Japan. You’ll play a ronin during a chaotic period in history.
Early next year should see No Rest for the Wicked entering early access. It looks like it’ll be an action RPG for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, where the player is on an island after a king has died and a plague is spreading. It will include online co-op.
It looks like historically based RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance is getting a release on the Switch. It has been available on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One for a few years now. It looks like it will be getting a physical and digital release on the Switch and include all the DLC released already.
Monster Hunter Wilds is set for 2025, targeting the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. It’ll be another entry in the Monster Hunter series, although details beyond that are sparse.
The First Berserker: Khazan has been announced, although without a release window. Set for the PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, it’ll be a single player action RPG set in the Dungeon & Fighter universe, which will follow a general that has been accused of treason.
A new sci-fi role playing game has been announced from Archetype Entertainment, a development studio owned by Wizards of the Coast. Called Exodus it will be a story driven RPG in an original universe and will be targeting the PC PS5 and the Xbox Series X/S. No release window has been given yet.
Turn based rogue light The Land Beneath Us has a publishing partner now. PID games will be working with Fair Play Studios to release it next year, targeting the PS5, XBox Series X/S and the Switch. It is a turn based dungeon crawler influenced by Welsh Myth.
As far as actual releases go, Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis saw its release. It is a JRPG that is free to play that combines various elements from other Final Fantasy VII properties. It features a young Sephiroth. Also, Final Fantasy XVI had the first of two DLC planned for it released. Echoes of the Fallen will include a new story, new battles, weapons, accessories, and a higher level cap, among other things.
Baldur’s Gate III got its release on Xbox Series X/S. Initially just slated to have its release date announced, they just decided to go ahead and push it out. It has been available on PC and PS5 for a while now.
Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader saw its release. A classic RPG from Owlcat Games, based on the Games Workshop franchise, it has you setting forth in your own personal voidship, traveling about the Koronus Expanse, looking for profit.
Legends of Amberland II: The Song of Trees saw its release. Inspired by classic first person RPGs like Might and Magic, Wizardry, and so forth, it features an heroic, fairy tale esque adventure with humorous elements. There is a demo available.
Svarog’s Dream is is a classic isometric style rpg where you play a soul awakened in the Underworld, who must discover who they were while inhabiting various hosts to make your mark on the world.
Born of Bread is a party based 2.5D RPG where you play a flour-golem in a humorous world with a cooking theme.
Faeland hit early access, and is a side scrolling adventure RPG inspired by 8 bit classics. You play a hunter, heading through the lands, unlocking new abilities, which unlocks more of the world to look through. So… metroidvania style.
Soulash 2 is in early access. It is a sandbox rpg roguelike that features a procedurally generated open world, and a skill based progression system. It has crafting, building, and trading elements as well. There is a demo available.
Shadows of Rogue: The Sorcerer’s Curse is a roguelite where you face off against hordes of enemies and bosses, picking up items and such. It looks like one of those survivors style games with an 8 bit aesthetic.
Then, Endless Glory is a sort of strategy rpg based on a stage based progression. You lead your army, strengthen it, upgrade skills and spells, equip gear, but you do not have direct control over your army besides that.
Curse of Blood is an action RPG set in a corrupted land, where you work against various vampires and werewolves to prevent the coming of the Blood Moon.
Finally, Another Dungeon Game is what it says on the tin, another action rpg hack and slash romp through a dungeon, with random loot, skill trees, all designed for casual play.
With that, we will move on to tabletop role playing game news. And we'll start with Pathfinder second edition legacy bundle over on humble bundle. It looks like it's a collection of the old Pathfinder 2nd edition material that is slowly being faded out. Proceeds go to the Comic Books for Kids charity, which looks to provide kid friendly comics and coloring books to children and teens in hospitals and cancer centers in North America.
Then, it appears as though Shadowrun is getting its first edition reprinted by a Catalyst Game Lab. I wonder if they are going to adjust any of the old material to a modern audience.
R. Talsorian Games looks like they are releasing Shadow Scar in 2024. It looks to be a multi-dimensional, anime-inspired role playing game previously called Project Blue Moon. It is designed by Cody Pondsmith who was the lead designer on the Witcher role playing game and a co designer on a Cyberpunk RED.
Samurai Sheepdog has S Class Characters: Bravos for Pathfinder 1st edition. It features an updated Bravo's class with features and rules, new fighting techniques, four new guiles, as well as a favored class bonuses in a full 20 level S-class.
PetDM has a few offerings for 5th edition. There is A Witch in Distress a first level adventure featuring a witch coming into a contact with a party while fleeing some mercenaries. Then there is The Truthseeker, a level 12 adventure featuring intrigue and mystical revelations. When the king receives a cryptic prophecy and then sends the party to the whispering Woods to consult an enigmatic witch. There’s also One Shot Dungeons, which includes 5 short 5th edition dungeons.
Menagerie Press has Menagerie of Adventures a collection of four 5th edition adventures. There is Temple of Misfortune a low level adventure featuring a bandit hideout and a haunted temple. Then there is Ghoul Cove, Descent into Mirefen, and Adul, City of Gold.
Cavern Crawls #30 Shivering Palace is a 3rd level 5th edition adventure where the party is hired by a Tricksy fae creature to rid the Fae Queen's palace of monsters.
Shadow over Wintertide is a 5th edition adventure where the party gets lost in the Iron Crown Mountains. They dream of a Winter's Eve festival while a snowstorm makes them doubt if they will live through the night. They are later lured into a mining village.
Of Iron and Thorns: the Palace of the Walls that Scream is a 5th edition adventure taking place in the Of Iron and Thorns campaign setting based on historical Italy.
The Sorcerer in the Fells is another 5th edition adventure. One deals with a small village that has been terrorized by a monster named Grom. Every five years the monster claims one of the villagers children as a sacrifice. It was once a mighty sorcerer and has begun to reclaim its powers over time.
The Case of the Curious Chart, from Only Crits, is an adventure beginning at level 6 designed to be a seafaring adventure with a light hearted nature and a focus on mystery.
Plains of Storm is a 5th edition regional supplement that focuses on an area riddled with ethereal storms. It includes locations, factions and new creatures.
Roll for Christmas is a 5th edition one shot adventure that is seasonally themed. It involves a sleigh crash next to the players on Christmas Eve, when they are drawn to help Pirate Santa deliver the last two presents. Unfortunately mischievous snow fairies are lurking to stop them.
Gaxland has two offerings in the Shadows Over Lake Geneva series. Each is designed for 5th edition but for a more modern setting. The first, The Beast of Bray Road is set in 1948 in Lake Geneva, WI. A murder occurs during a full moon and the footprint of a large beast is found near the scene. Then, A Sanguine Horror is also set in 1948 Lake Geneva. It has a body discovered in Oak Hill Cemetery which has had a stake driven through his heart.
The Dark Below, from Critical Crafting, is a 5th edition supplement focusing on subterranean elements. It includes a monster template, 5 stat blocks, five encounters, some maps, items, grafts, spells, a couple new player races, a new subclass, feats, lore, and much more.
Legendary Games has Legendary Bestiaries: Mediterranean Monsters, a collection of creatures from across the Mediterranean sea for fifth edition. It looks like it includes creatures of myth from southern Europe and northern Africa.
Roles and Rolls: Tome of Shadow Organizations is a 5th edition supplement that features several organizations meant for NPCS and other villains. It includes 17 fully detailed factions, 46 villain and arch villain NPCs, 28 henchmen, maps, and more. They also have Book of Dangers, a compendium of dangers for DMs to throw at their players.
The Vakhari is a playable dwarf race for fifth edition, dealing with a type of seafaring dwarves known for mastery of the waters.
Then, The Tamer is a new homebrew class for fifth edition, designed around taming and commanding creatures. It is a half caster type class that tames monstrous spirits after defeating foes.
Ghostly Monsters for Fantasy from RPGGamer is a collection of several spirit creatures. It comes in fifth edition, Shadowdark, and Dragonbane versions.
EN publishing has Gate Pass Gazette issue 20 for Level Up: Advanced Fifth Edition. It is an issue of their magazine featuring material for their system, this time with corruption mechanics, among other material.
Elvin Tower has a couple offerings for the Shadowdark RPG system. There is Dungeon Vault magazine number 40, which includes a compilation of adventures, lore, maps, and other useful things. Then there is Gaze of the Solemn Sire, a level 4 Shadowdark adventure, that features characters finding themselves at a crossroads with no clear path. They require a powerful weapon or a crucial piece of information, when they learn of an elusive entity said to have aided those in need in the past.
Arcanum RPG studio has Darkwoods Heart of Silver. It is designed for Shadowdark rpg and has a mining camp attacked by a seemingly indestructible monster. The party must find a way to defeat the beast.
Goodman Games has a few offerings for Dungeon Crawl Classics day 2023. There is the adventure pack which includes two adventures for 1st and 2nd level characters for the DCC system. It is a free offering. There is also Crash of the Titans for mutant crawl classics. It is a 3rd level adventure where the party is tasked with exploring the remnants of an ancient city to recover a powerful artifact. Meanwhile they discover two massive monsters battling for dominance within the ruins.
Savage AfterWorld has Country Meat-Grinder Classics: Harvest of the Wytch. It is a DCC RPG compatible adventure in the grindhouse horror genre suitable for second level characters.
Necromancer games has a couple offerings to supplement their essential horror series for old school essentials. There is Tables of Essential Horrors, a set of 25 plus tables from the Tome of Essential horrors Kickstarter campaign. They also have Classes of Essential Healing, featuring the healer class as well as a few subclasses such as the apothecary, hospitaller, and the soul witch. They also have the Bundle of Essential Horrors which includes these two products with the Tome of Essential Horrors monster book.
Bloat games has three adventures for Dark Places & Demogorgons for old school essentials. There is Two Minutes to Midnight, an adventure meant to take place in two acts which features the players gathering clues to mundane missing items, only to have one hour of real time to decipher the clues and stop a malicious ritual from happening. They also have Terror of Taylor's Lake, an urban horror adventure module for 1st to 2nd level characters featuring a series of locations around a lake where some high school students have gone missing. Finally they have Camp Dread which deals with camp Dreamaway, a summer camp situated on top of a large hill near a clear lake. This year a vampire is waking up from a sleep and is on the hunt.
Trollgodfather Press has When Gods Die, a campaign in several parts dealing with the Kingdom of Brithos. It also has a mini-grimoire of additional spells, an overview of the village of Sanctuary, and a series of connected adventures designed to prepare the pcs for another upcoming event. It is designed to be compatible with Monsters! Monsters!
The Verdant is a new playbook for dungeon world focused on a plant focused nature powered playable creature.
Gallant Knight games has Tiny Tome of Terrors, a Halloween release featuring a dozen new monsters compatible with the TinyD6 rule set.
Ganesha games has Treacheries of the Troublesome Towns, an advanced supplement for Four Against Darkness that features full town adventure generation. It includes two books: one with rules to generate towns, and one with the tables and the book of secrets for play within them.
City of Red Waters from Evil Hat Productions is an alternate setting for the Blades in the Dark RPG. It includes new heritages, backgrounds, vices, crew types, and more. It features a bustling colonial metropolis with an unpleasant history.
Asteria is a story based system neutral fantasy setting for tabletop role playing games. It includes details for an island with cities, mazes, magic, monsters, and various adventures.
Lizard Folk of Sorrowvine Swamp is an adventure for Odysseys and Overlords 2nd edition. Designed for seasoned players, it features the party being contacted by a client interested in retrieving books and historical documents from Sorrowvine Keep.
Mausritter: Traitors Torrent is an adventure for the Mausritter RPG, It features a settlement where a trader is a few days overdue, and strange figures and distant voices are rumored to come from the nearby forest.
Better Latte Than Never is a Savage Worlds Adventure Edition pulp action role playing game. It explores the files of the British Secret Intelligence Service dealing with Nazi Pseudoscience, Shadowy conspiracies, miracles, magic, supernatural creatures, aliens, etc.
Whalgravaak’s Warehouse is a Troika adventure featuring a dungeon crawl in an interdimensional warehouse, towering over the bad part of Troika, long abandoned and supposedly still filled with stuff.
Call of Cthulhu: Alone Against the Static is a modern era scenario for 1990s designed for solo play with the Call of Cthulhu Ruleset. Set in the Dakota Black Hills, you play one of two existing characters that have their own choices to make during the playthrough.
Eldritch Apocalypse is a standalone scenario for the Tricube Tales system inspired by things like Buffy, Ash vs. Evil Dead, Dresden Files, etc, that deals with a top secret organization investigating paranormal events.
Legions of Carcosa: The Yellow King Bestiary is a supplement designed to help create creatures suitable for The Yellow King Roleplaying Game, with 86 new foes, 100 new shock and injury cards, hooks, and so forth.
Cloud Empress: Land of Cicadas is part of the Cloud Empress campaign setting for the Mothership Sci-Fi horror rpg. There’s also a Year One adventure bundle that includes the first five adventures for the setting.
Mongoose has The Deep and the Dark for Traveller RPG. It features the Celalla Nebula and the Reaver’s Deep, two sectors at the border between human and Aslan space.
Scoundrels of Brixton: The Clean Hands is another entry in the Scoundrels of Brixton series of sci-fi campaign setting material. This one includes details on a smuggling firm on the lookout for new henchmen, as well as a company town rife with corruption.
Star Trek Adventures: A House By Any Other Name is an adventure scenario where the players play the crew of a Klingon vessel, who have been called to a recently conquered subject race which has sent out distress calls and claims of invasion.
The Super Hack Deluxe is a superhero based game utilizing a simple OSR style ruleset, detailed explanations, all with full color illustrations.
Finally, Evil Genius Games has The Vault Rules Compendium Volume 1, for Everyday Heroes. It includes a year’s worth of various new rules, including new classes, rules for creating and playing mechs and tiny heroes, various cybernetic implants, rules for playing heroes from level 0 to level 20 and beyond, various NPCs, gm tools, etc.

This week a couple computer role playing games and rpg adjacent titles caught my eye
We will start with Trash Goblin, billed as Goblin Etsy the video game. It has you playing a goblin that scrounges up items to restore and then sell onward.
Then there's Bloodline, a new entry in the Strength and Virtue RPG series. It is built with a heavily modified RPG Maker engine and looks to carry on the political intrigue and family interconnection of the prior titles.
Art of the Genre is looking to fund another entry in their Folio series. A Realm of Globes and Pillars is going to be the final part of the Virgin Mine Mega Dungeon with both 1st edition and 5th edition mechanics.
Micro Dungeons winter edition 2023 looks to be a collection of 5th edition compatible micro dungeon crawling adventures with a winter or Christmas theme. Similar to their prior collections this one will fund both the Micro Dungeons winter 2023 book as well as Micro Dungeons XI.
The Giant's blessing will be a one shot 5th edition adventure featuring an icy undead horde invading an area. It looks like it will focus on themes of charity and faith.
The Tower of Fools will be a 10th level 5th edition adventure featuring a tower built at the edge of a mysterious village. Eilran the enlightened, a wizard, has gone mad, and while losing his mind has decided to create a fortress that will operate as a puzzle as well.
Echoes of Frost will be a fifth edition adventure set in an endless winter. Set in the Grimfel grim dark campaign setting it is suited for four to six players. It looks like they are also funding a novella to go with it.
The Dragon's Heir will be a dragon based 5th edition adventure. It begins with the death of a platinum dragon which creates a power vacuum in Dragon Society. She has one last egg which may be the final hope for dragon kind.
Ars Mechanica: The Frozen Enigma will be a 5th edition supplement in the Ars Mechanica steampunk style setting. This one will feature a theocracy steeped in tradition and religion where technological advancements have been slow, and the predominant focus is on faith as well as the preservation of ancestral customs.
Of Iron and Thorns: Dead Skin Masks will be a 5th edition adventure set in a world of twisted horror based on historical Italy. This one will be set in Modena, where an artist has recently passed, taking with him the art of creating Modenese golems.
How to be an Undead in D&D 5E looks to be a supplement that is exactly what it says on the tin. It looks to let you create undead characters. It will have three types of undead to play: ghouls, zombies, and skeletons.
Meta Domain clerics will be a fourth wall based cleric subclass, featuring new spells and items, as well as creatures. It features clerics that think they live in the game, can even learn their player’s name, and have an adjustable magical book.
Rabid Dogs Zine volume 2 looks to be a DCC RPG compatible zine with new classes equipment and rules variants. It looks to include slot based encumbrance rules, a streamlined piecemeal fantasy armor system, a new approach to languages, expanded weapons and equipment, and more.
The Isle of Sedra looks like it will be a setting source book with supporting adventures for old school essentials. The isle itself will be located in an ocean and form a regional campaign setting small enough to be manageable while still containing a variety of adventures. It will include supplemental information for existing solitaire adventures, and include conversions of books originally written for The Fantasy Trip.
Free League will be producing The Electric State RPG. Set in up an apocalyptic alternate 1990s it will be influenced by the same artist that inspired previous offerings such as Tales From the Loop.
Finally there is Enlightened: a tabletop role playing game it will be a rules light book featuring a play setting called the Twilight of the Fae.
