RPG News Roundup 12-23-2023
Hello, this is the RPG Crawler and welcome to another RPG News Roundup, this time for December 23rd 2023, where each week I take a look back at the week in Tabletop, Computer, and console role playing game news and bring you the highlights.
And with that we'll move on to computer and console role playing game news.
We will start with Sovereign Syndicate. It is to be a Victorian steam punk style role playing game slated for release on pc on January 15th, 2024. It uses tarot cards for randomization, and has you investigating the disappearance of people and uncovering a mysterious cult. It has three playable characters each with their own set of skills and motivations.
South Park: Snow Day has a release date set. It looks like it is set for March 26th, 2024. It has you playing the New Kid, along with the usual South Park crew, in a 3D action RPG set during a snow day, where a massive blizzard has come into town.
Skald: Against the Black Priory has been announced for spring of next year. It is a very retro-style party-based rpg in a grim dark fantasy world with elements of Lovecraftian horror. It has you exploring a branching story as well as encountering tactical combat situations.
Xuan Yuan Sword 7 is set for a release on Nintendo Switch in spring of next year. It will be available both physically and digitally. Xuan Yuan Sword 7 is the newest entry in a Taiwanese action rpg series set in a version of China about 2000 years ago. You control a swordsman venturing out to protect his family. It has been available on other platforms for a while now.
Outward: Definitive Edition is also coming to Switch next year. It is been available on other platforms for quite some time now. The Definitive Edition contains the main game as well as the two DLC, and is a sort of fantasy action rpg with hardcore survival elements.
I don't usually deal in rumors but apparently there may be a new Might & Magic role playing game on the horizon. Developer Ubisoft Shanghai has just registered a new domain: Might & Magic: Fates. It'll be interesting to see what comes.
As far as actual releases go, Tails of Iron, the adventure RPG featuring mice, has received a free expansion. Taking place postgame, it introduces a new adversary and includes four story quests, several side quests, some new challengers for the arena, new weapons, armor and so forth.
Then, Paranoia: Happiness is Mandatory saw its release. Based on the tabletop role playing game, it has you leading a team of troubleshooters sent to obey the orders from Friend Computer, a paranoid irrational AI.
Several old school SSI titles were released on Gog and Steam. Among them is the Phantasie series, a set of three old school computer role playing games. Aside from that Star Command also saw its rerelease.
Early Access tactical role playing game Beast got a new title. Now called Beast: False Prophet, it also received a new update that allows one to play through the entire game. From now on they will be focusing on bug fixes and additional polish.
Few Nights More: Genesis is a rogue-like turn-based role playing game, set in a world where vampire lords conquer lost territories to make their way in the world. It lets you design your own stronghold, set traps and seek to strengthen your Lord.
I've made an effort not to cover quite so many of these “bullet health survivor RPGs”, but Kitty Survivors looked rather cute. It is an action rogue-light game where you go against hordes of creatures create items, pick up skills and weapons as a cat.
Dungeon Mage is a hack and slash dungeon crawler set in a dungeon with shifting layouts. You collect items, craft objects, and face off against various bosses, all in a free to play game.
Magic Labyrinth is a procedurally generated first person dungeon crawler. It is an action RPG, with a hunger mechanism, pets that can be tamed, rare trophies to collect, and an easy mode for casual players.
Finally, there is Luminaria: Dark Echoes. It's an action rogue like, set in a steampunk style world. It looks like it has yet another set of vampire survivors style wave based combat.
And with that, let's take a look at tabletop role playing game news. Apparently Green Ronin is producing Valiant Adventures, powered by Mutants and Masterminds. It will be getting a Kickstarter on January 16th, which I will cover then.
As for minor and PDF releases we will start with Master of the Hunt from Tombs and Treachery. Designed for 3.5 era d20, it details a 20 level class compatible with and requiring the old Tome of Battle supplement.
Portal to Andror is a five adventure pack for Pathfinder second edition. It is the start of the Andror campaign setting adventure format, presenting a sandbox that can be run in any order. That includes the adventures, tactical maps, dozens of new monsters and traps, items, and magic items, videos of animated NPCS, and various notes and so forth. It looks to be the first of a series that will eventually take the campaign to level 20.
Necromancer games has Sea God's Curse, available in 5th edition, Castles and Crusades, and Old School Essentials versions. It is an adventure for mid level characters that has the party contacted by a merchant they once saved, to help him with his new collection.
Grim Press has Haunting at the Darkwillow Manor. It is a 5th edition adventure for tier two characters that revolves around a haunted manor. The owner is seeking help to find out the source of the haunting.
The Hag’s Gift is a 5th edition short adventure. Suited for fifth to 6 level characters, it takes place in a small town in the mountains. Every year during the longest night of the year, something is hunting in the city, entering houses and devouring the inhabitants. The citizens have begun to worship the creature in an attempt for mercy, but some villagers are open to hiring help.
Bob World Builder has The Unknowable Curse of Erlazahiv. It is an adventure featuring a prisoner in a Wizards Tower. The party must traverse a cross planar tower to recover a cursed artifact in order to free him.
Heart of the Sunken Lands is a wilderness adventure module. Companion to Jonril: Gateway to the Sunken Lands, it may still be used separately.
The Lich Lords of Cryx from Privateer Press is a set of 12 Lich NPCs for the Iron Kingdoms Requiem 5th edition campaign. That… seem to be “Cryxmas” themed. Okay.
A Deadly Duet is a fifth edition adventure meant to take players to 2nd level. It can be run stand alone, or as part of the Into the Veils adventure path, which it is already included in if you own that product.
Garden of Terror is a 5th edition and OSR compatible adventure that starts in a tiny village, home to a beautiful park. Around a year ago, the park has become more sinister around sundown. It is now home to a dark curse.
MCDM Productions has a couple of offerings. There is Beastheart and Monstrous Companions for 5th edition. It presents rules for wild creatures and other such pets that characters can befriend and bring along on adventures. They also have the Illrigger Revised, a custom class for 5th edition. It features an armored warrior with supernatural abilities, three subclass options, some new spells, an example NPC, and 3 retainers. Finally they have The Talent and Psionics, a 5th edition supplement that includes a psionic class called the talent, and the supplemental rules to run it.
Dungeon AI'd has DarkFrost, A 5th edition source book about Yuletide. It features the Land of Winter, a snowy landscape between realms. You've been summoned to aid Lord Yule who has been stricken by a plague.
Exwyn’s Handbook to Heroism from Pacesetter Games is available in print, and is a fifth edition collection of character options. It includes 38 subclasses, 10 races/subraces, 31 spells, and 10 feats.
RPGGamer has fantasy classes blacksmith. It is a 5th edition class that deals with a craftsman. They also have the Apothecary.
Arclands Online has two character races. The Saasku, a fae character race that are effectively martial arts masters. They also have Booknooks, a race of knowledge seekers with floating books for heads.
Corvid Moon has Monsters of Mythos volume one: Scylla and Charybdis. It includes 5th edition statistics for these classic creatures of myth.
Another offering from Bob World Builder is Bases & Businesses. It is a 5th edition rule supplement offering simple rules for building and maintaining a business, along with four bases, some maps, 40 businesses, 36 hirelings, and more.
MiZo games has 12 Days of Christmas 5th edition item pack. It is exactly what it says on the tin, a collection of 12 Christmas themed items for 5th edition.
DnD PotionCraft from PlanarInk is a supplement that offers various ingredients, recipes and alchemical lore including variations on many different potions.
Purple Duck Games has Under Eight Stones, A Dungeon Crawl Classics compatible adventure. It features a forgotten tomb which is said to hold a magical battleaxe worthy of any quest.
Troll Lord Games has the Codex of Aihrde: After Winter Dark. It features the world of Aihrde, freshly reborn after the long millennia of Winter Dark. It includes a history of the world, the mythos of the gods, various cosmological details, and much more. It seems to essentially be a new reset of the setting. They also have The Marbeline Coast expansion, which details the terrain and peoples along that coastal region.
Mad Scribe Magazine issue 4 is an OSR based tabletop gaming magazine, with this issue having interviews with the creators of Neon Lords of the Toxic Wasteland, Battletech author of Blaine Pardoe, and Miguel of The RedRoom. It also has other battle reports, cosplay art, and more.
Magitecnica Codex 1 is a volume of OSR style material, specifically for the synthetic dream machine rpg system, that features a shiptower Haruspex, various magitechnical powers, and so on.
Role & Roll has two additional Wilderness Regions this week. Area #13 Arctic Polar details an Arctic and polar area, then number 14 canyon features, well a canyon.
Black Box Books Tome Ten: Jungles and Jaguars includes a number of new tables, monsters, a subclass, and a new race for old school campaigning. Suited for swords and wizardry white box, or compatible systems, it revolves around a jungle and some jaguar warriors.
The Risen, from Rocket Punch Press, is a new path for the EZD6 RPG. It features a character brought back from the dead, based on a 1994 movie.
Philip Reed has the Deck of Notices and Quests, available in print. It is a system-less fantasy RPG supplement offering 80 cards that include various encounter sidequests and so forth.
Elfking: Book of Further Encounters is available in print. It has additional encounters, monsters, spells, and more for Elfking the Immortal. It also includes a solo adventure.
The Ruins of Rynall is an adventure for the Heroes of Qalanor System. It includes a background, new monsters and stats, a dungeon map and description, plus a new hero for the party and is a continuation of The Tin Horn.
Akropolis Now: Of Plagues and Sacred Wine is an Akropolis Now adventure, where the city of Corinth now stands at the edge of ruin. A plague has fallen over its streets, and the group is set to enter a vine entangled ruins into a temple of Dionysius.
Osprey publishing has Heirs to Heresy: Faith and Fear. A supplement for Heirs to Heresy, it includes new knightly orders, relics, mysteries, and foes.
Goblet for Goblins is an adventure for Along the Leyline. A Goblin has stolen a fine goblet, and the group is hired to go into the cave and get it back. Unfortunately the goblins in the cave are coming down with a sickness, and the goblet is a key component to a ritual spell meant to cure them.
Broadsword Expansion: solo and co-op rules booklet is available in print. It includes information on playing broadsword without a group.
Cave of Woe from Parts Per Million is an adventure for Worlds Without Number and similar systems. It features a rural area with hills, a woodland environment, and a cave encounter.
Herbalist Manual for Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok is an historical archetype part of the Mimir’s Manual series. It includes everything you need to create a character of that archetype.
The Strays is a World War II era cooperative dungeon crawler. It is both historical and Sci Fi influenced, and includes level progression, unique enemies, events, and scavenged gear.
Project SunFlower from Faulty-Wire Games is a tabletop role playing game in a post apocalyptic earth. It is a verdant and overgrown post apocalypse, where a fungal infection has spread and mutated everything from trees and bushes to frogs and people. It features exploding damage dice, dynamic challenges, and a classless system based on skills and attributes. I was sent a copy of this for review, so I'll get to it at some point.
Mongoose has two entries for the Traveller system. There is Whispers on the Abyss, a complete mini campaign that involves the travelers being given a contract to showcase a prototype Starship on a route around the periphery of the Abyss Rift. Then there is Wrath of the Ancients. It has the travelers defeating an Ancient, but a telepathic nightmare has led them to a crashed vessel on a desolate moon where they discover a threat to all of charted space.
Michael Brown has Stella Mirandi for the Cepheus engine. A holiday sci-fi adventure, it has the adventures trapped on a tide locked world finding danger from both the star above and the society around.
Tales from the Floating Vagabond second edition is an RPG that mixes space western, superheroes, and high fantasy, in a sort of strange space bar that combines everything.
The Galactic Realm of the Hyperspace Sea is a sci-fi system based on the GD20 system that features epic space opera style play. It includes the resolution system, various player roles, their skills, single roll mass combat system, details and backgrounds on a dozen civilizations, and tables for generating history, planets, cities, and more.
Kortthalis Publishing has Shiny Object Syndrome. it includes a few female NPCs for modern, sci-fi, cyberpunk, et cetera systems.
Onyx Path has Once and Future for Scion Second Edition. It features an origin through demigod set of play rules based on Arthurian Legend. They also have Killing Time available in print. It is a jump starter for Hunter the Vigil second edition. It includes an introductory story, several ready to play characters, abbreviated rules, and various story hooks.
Devil, Aim for Me is a Weird West incursion for Trophy Dark. It includes all the rules you need to play within it, and is a collaborative play-to-lose RPG scenario about bounty hunters on an expedition in a hostile world.
Beyond the Broken Gates core rules is a system that's agnostic of all “forced mods” that allows players the ability to create their own character sheets with a brand new math system, that's compatible with multiple genres.
The Aether Throne is a complete tabletop role playing game in a world where science and aether have been combined. The core rulebook includes a dozen professions, over twenty skills, various steampunk weapons and gadgets, combat rules, skyship battle rules, over 100 magical invocations and scientific conventions, rules for owning and modifying a steam punk airship, playing card mechanics, and more.
Torg Eternity: Silent Night, Stormy Night is an adventure that is holiday themed for Torg Eternity. It's the first Christmas of the possibility wars, and it turned out Santa is real. You take on the role of Santa and his elves, or your own storm knights, and go round the world in a single night to deliver presents to the nice children.
Knuckle Sandwich is a simple tabletop role playing game based on thriller fiction, especially of Jim Heskett. Set in the modern world, it has you dealing with modern problems like organized crime and so forth.
Oddity High is a tabletop game a high school full of aliens, Espers, Ghosts, Demons, Eldritch Gods, sentient cats, et cetera. Set in a Japanese High School, you live in the space between normal and supernatural. It's influenced by anime, manga, etc.
Finally, Evil Genius Games has The Agency Files part three: the reptaurans and other strangeness. Designed for Everyday Heroes, it offers information on the three species that make up the Triumvirate of alien invaders.
With that, we will move on to RPG crowdfunding campaigns. Remember that contributing to a crowdfunding campaign should be done only at your own risk. This time a few computer and console role playing game crowdfunding campaigns caught my eye. We'll start with Koboo: The Tree Spirit. It is an action rogue-like platformer where you defend a forest against hunters. It takes elements from Metroidvanias and is designed for a short set of gameplay.
Cursed Order looks to be a somewhat lower budget offering. It has you playing an amnesiac who awakened in a forest a year ago. Now, someone who has befriended you, has betrayed your trust.
Moving on to tabletop crowdfunding , we'll start with Snowblind. It looks to be a 5th edition adventure, in a world where snow conceals alien secrets. It'll combine fantasy and sci-fi elements, and feature not only an adventure but a set of printable STL files.
Populated Hexes is looking to fund two more issues, issues 28 and 29, of their hex crawl supplement series for Old School Essentials. Issue 28 will cover a mountainous region, while issue 29 will focus on a mountain shrine.
Philip Reed has Deck of Old-School Encounters, a systemless fantasy set of RPG cards. It includes a set of 72 random encounters each set on cards either for quick generation during a game or for solo play.
Savage Gladiators will offer a way to play Roman arena based material using the Savage Worlds rules. It is a setting book that features fast gladiatorial combat, as well as having character creation rules, new hindrances and edges, rules for arena combat, new gear and weapons, and so forth.
The Hall is Dead will be a tabletop RPG with modular, customizable classes in a fantasy world with steampunk elements. It will include the setting, as well as an original system. It is designed to fall part way between systems like 5th edition, as well as more complex games like Deadlands Classic and Cyberpunk.
Finally, The Cha’alt Experience, will be an offering from Venger Satanis, that gives guidance on designing a gonzo style world, with material such as essays, workshops, tutorials, and random tables.

And with that we'll move on to computer and console role playing game news.
We will start with Sovereign Syndicate. It is to be a Victorian steam punk style role playing game slated for release on pc on January 15th, 2024. It uses tarot cards for randomization, and has you investigating the disappearance of people and uncovering a mysterious cult. It has three playable characters each with their own set of skills and motivations.
South Park: Snow Day has a release date set. It looks like it is set for March 26th, 2024. It has you playing the New Kid, along with the usual South Park crew, in a 3D action RPG set during a snow day, where a massive blizzard has come into town.
Skald: Against the Black Priory has been announced for spring of next year. It is a very retro-style party-based rpg in a grim dark fantasy world with elements of Lovecraftian horror. It has you exploring a branching story as well as encountering tactical combat situations.
Xuan Yuan Sword 7 is set for a release on Nintendo Switch in spring of next year. It will be available both physically and digitally. Xuan Yuan Sword 7 is the newest entry in a Taiwanese action rpg series set in a version of China about 2000 years ago. You control a swordsman venturing out to protect his family. It has been available on other platforms for a while now.
Outward: Definitive Edition is also coming to Switch next year. It is been available on other platforms for quite some time now. The Definitive Edition contains the main game as well as the two DLC, and is a sort of fantasy action rpg with hardcore survival elements.
I don't usually deal in rumors but apparently there may be a new Might & Magic role playing game on the horizon. Developer Ubisoft Shanghai has just registered a new domain: Might & Magic: Fates. It'll be interesting to see what comes.
As far as actual releases go, Tails of Iron, the adventure RPG featuring mice, has received a free expansion. Taking place postgame, it introduces a new adversary and includes four story quests, several side quests, some new challengers for the arena, new weapons, armor and so forth.
Then, Paranoia: Happiness is Mandatory saw its release. Based on the tabletop role playing game, it has you leading a team of troubleshooters sent to obey the orders from Friend Computer, a paranoid irrational AI.
Several old school SSI titles were released on Gog and Steam. Among them is the Phantasie series, a set of three old school computer role playing games. Aside from that Star Command also saw its rerelease.
Early Access tactical role playing game Beast got a new title. Now called Beast: False Prophet, it also received a new update that allows one to play through the entire game. From now on they will be focusing on bug fixes and additional polish.
Few Nights More: Genesis is a rogue-like turn-based role playing game, set in a world where vampire lords conquer lost territories to make their way in the world. It lets you design your own stronghold, set traps and seek to strengthen your Lord.
I've made an effort not to cover quite so many of these “bullet health survivor RPGs”, but Kitty Survivors looked rather cute. It is an action rogue-light game where you go against hordes of creatures create items, pick up skills and weapons as a cat.
Dungeon Mage is a hack and slash dungeon crawler set in a dungeon with shifting layouts. You collect items, craft objects, and face off against various bosses, all in a free to play game.
Magic Labyrinth is a procedurally generated first person dungeon crawler. It is an action RPG, with a hunger mechanism, pets that can be tamed, rare trophies to collect, and an easy mode for casual players.
Finally, there is Luminaria: Dark Echoes. It's an action rogue like, set in a steampunk style world. It looks like it has yet another set of vampire survivors style wave based combat.
And with that, let's take a look at tabletop role playing game news. Apparently Green Ronin is producing Valiant Adventures, powered by Mutants and Masterminds. It will be getting a Kickstarter on January 16th, which I will cover then.
As for minor and PDF releases we will start with Master of the Hunt from Tombs and Treachery. Designed for 3.5 era d20, it details a 20 level class compatible with and requiring the old Tome of Battle supplement.
Portal to Andror is a five adventure pack for Pathfinder second edition. It is the start of the Andror campaign setting adventure format, presenting a sandbox that can be run in any order. That includes the adventures, tactical maps, dozens of new monsters and traps, items, and magic items, videos of animated NPCS, and various notes and so forth. It looks to be the first of a series that will eventually take the campaign to level 20.
Necromancer games has Sea God's Curse, available in 5th edition, Castles and Crusades, and Old School Essentials versions. It is an adventure for mid level characters that has the party contacted by a merchant they once saved, to help him with his new collection.
Grim Press has Haunting at the Darkwillow Manor. It is a 5th edition adventure for tier two characters that revolves around a haunted manor. The owner is seeking help to find out the source of the haunting.
The Hag’s Gift is a 5th edition short adventure. Suited for fifth to 6 level characters, it takes place in a small town in the mountains. Every year during the longest night of the year, something is hunting in the city, entering houses and devouring the inhabitants. The citizens have begun to worship the creature in an attempt for mercy, but some villagers are open to hiring help.
Bob World Builder has The Unknowable Curse of Erlazahiv. It is an adventure featuring a prisoner in a Wizards Tower. The party must traverse a cross planar tower to recover a cursed artifact in order to free him.
Heart of the Sunken Lands is a wilderness adventure module. Companion to Jonril: Gateway to the Sunken Lands, it may still be used separately.
The Lich Lords of Cryx from Privateer Press is a set of 12 Lich NPCs for the Iron Kingdoms Requiem 5th edition campaign. That… seem to be “Cryxmas” themed. Okay.
A Deadly Duet is a fifth edition adventure meant to take players to 2nd level. It can be run stand alone, or as part of the Into the Veils adventure path, which it is already included in if you own that product.
Garden of Terror is a 5th edition and OSR compatible adventure that starts in a tiny village, home to a beautiful park. Around a year ago, the park has become more sinister around sundown. It is now home to a dark curse.
MCDM Productions has a couple of offerings. There is Beastheart and Monstrous Companions for 5th edition. It presents rules for wild creatures and other such pets that characters can befriend and bring along on adventures. They also have the Illrigger Revised, a custom class for 5th edition. It features an armored warrior with supernatural abilities, three subclass options, some new spells, an example NPC, and 3 retainers. Finally they have The Talent and Psionics, a 5th edition supplement that includes a psionic class called the talent, and the supplemental rules to run it.
Dungeon AI'd has DarkFrost, A 5th edition source book about Yuletide. It features the Land of Winter, a snowy landscape between realms. You've been summoned to aid Lord Yule who has been stricken by a plague.
Exwyn’s Handbook to Heroism from Pacesetter Games is available in print, and is a fifth edition collection of character options. It includes 38 subclasses, 10 races/subraces, 31 spells, and 10 feats.
RPGGamer has fantasy classes blacksmith. It is a 5th edition class that deals with a craftsman. They also have the Apothecary.
Arclands Online has two character races. The Saasku, a fae character race that are effectively martial arts masters. They also have Booknooks, a race of knowledge seekers with floating books for heads.
Corvid Moon has Monsters of Mythos volume one: Scylla and Charybdis. It includes 5th edition statistics for these classic creatures of myth.
Another offering from Bob World Builder is Bases & Businesses. It is a 5th edition rule supplement offering simple rules for building and maintaining a business, along with four bases, some maps, 40 businesses, 36 hirelings, and more.
MiZo games has 12 Days of Christmas 5th edition item pack. It is exactly what it says on the tin, a collection of 12 Christmas themed items for 5th edition.
DnD PotionCraft from PlanarInk is a supplement that offers various ingredients, recipes and alchemical lore including variations on many different potions.
Purple Duck Games has Under Eight Stones, A Dungeon Crawl Classics compatible adventure. It features a forgotten tomb which is said to hold a magical battleaxe worthy of any quest.
Troll Lord Games has the Codex of Aihrde: After Winter Dark. It features the world of Aihrde, freshly reborn after the long millennia of Winter Dark. It includes a history of the world, the mythos of the gods, various cosmological details, and much more. It seems to essentially be a new reset of the setting. They also have The Marbeline Coast expansion, which details the terrain and peoples along that coastal region.
Mad Scribe Magazine issue 4 is an OSR based tabletop gaming magazine, with this issue having interviews with the creators of Neon Lords of the Toxic Wasteland, Battletech author of Blaine Pardoe, and Miguel of The RedRoom. It also has other battle reports, cosplay art, and more.
Magitecnica Codex 1 is a volume of OSR style material, specifically for the synthetic dream machine rpg system, that features a shiptower Haruspex, various magitechnical powers, and so on.
Role & Roll has two additional Wilderness Regions this week. Area #13 Arctic Polar details an Arctic and polar area, then number 14 canyon features, well a canyon.
Black Box Books Tome Ten: Jungles and Jaguars includes a number of new tables, monsters, a subclass, and a new race for old school campaigning. Suited for swords and wizardry white box, or compatible systems, it revolves around a jungle and some jaguar warriors.
The Risen, from Rocket Punch Press, is a new path for the EZD6 RPG. It features a character brought back from the dead, based on a 1994 movie.
Philip Reed has the Deck of Notices and Quests, available in print. It is a system-less fantasy RPG supplement offering 80 cards that include various encounter sidequests and so forth.
Elfking: Book of Further Encounters is available in print. It has additional encounters, monsters, spells, and more for Elfking the Immortal. It also includes a solo adventure.
The Ruins of Rynall is an adventure for the Heroes of Qalanor System. It includes a background, new monsters and stats, a dungeon map and description, plus a new hero for the party and is a continuation of The Tin Horn.
Akropolis Now: Of Plagues and Sacred Wine is an Akropolis Now adventure, where the city of Corinth now stands at the edge of ruin. A plague has fallen over its streets, and the group is set to enter a vine entangled ruins into a temple of Dionysius.
Osprey publishing has Heirs to Heresy: Faith and Fear. A supplement for Heirs to Heresy, it includes new knightly orders, relics, mysteries, and foes.
Goblet for Goblins is an adventure for Along the Leyline. A Goblin has stolen a fine goblet, and the group is hired to go into the cave and get it back. Unfortunately the goblins in the cave are coming down with a sickness, and the goblet is a key component to a ritual spell meant to cure them.
Broadsword Expansion: solo and co-op rules booklet is available in print. It includes information on playing broadsword without a group.
Cave of Woe from Parts Per Million is an adventure for Worlds Without Number and similar systems. It features a rural area with hills, a woodland environment, and a cave encounter.
Herbalist Manual for Fate of the Norns: Ragnarok is an historical archetype part of the Mimir’s Manual series. It includes everything you need to create a character of that archetype.
The Strays is a World War II era cooperative dungeon crawler. It is both historical and Sci Fi influenced, and includes level progression, unique enemies, events, and scavenged gear.
Project SunFlower from Faulty-Wire Games is a tabletop role playing game in a post apocalyptic earth. It is a verdant and overgrown post apocalypse, where a fungal infection has spread and mutated everything from trees and bushes to frogs and people. It features exploding damage dice, dynamic challenges, and a classless system based on skills and attributes. I was sent a copy of this for review, so I'll get to it at some point.
Mongoose has two entries for the Traveller system. There is Whispers on the Abyss, a complete mini campaign that involves the travelers being given a contract to showcase a prototype Starship on a route around the periphery of the Abyss Rift. Then there is Wrath of the Ancients. It has the travelers defeating an Ancient, but a telepathic nightmare has led them to a crashed vessel on a desolate moon where they discover a threat to all of charted space.
Michael Brown has Stella Mirandi for the Cepheus engine. A holiday sci-fi adventure, it has the adventures trapped on a tide locked world finding danger from both the star above and the society around.
Tales from the Floating Vagabond second edition is an RPG that mixes space western, superheroes, and high fantasy, in a sort of strange space bar that combines everything.
The Galactic Realm of the Hyperspace Sea is a sci-fi system based on the GD20 system that features epic space opera style play. It includes the resolution system, various player roles, their skills, single roll mass combat system, details and backgrounds on a dozen civilizations, and tables for generating history, planets, cities, and more.
Kortthalis Publishing has Shiny Object Syndrome. it includes a few female NPCs for modern, sci-fi, cyberpunk, et cetera systems.
Onyx Path has Once and Future for Scion Second Edition. It features an origin through demigod set of play rules based on Arthurian Legend. They also have Killing Time available in print. It is a jump starter for Hunter the Vigil second edition. It includes an introductory story, several ready to play characters, abbreviated rules, and various story hooks.
Devil, Aim for Me is a Weird West incursion for Trophy Dark. It includes all the rules you need to play within it, and is a collaborative play-to-lose RPG scenario about bounty hunters on an expedition in a hostile world.
Beyond the Broken Gates core rules is a system that's agnostic of all “forced mods” that allows players the ability to create their own character sheets with a brand new math system, that's compatible with multiple genres.
The Aether Throne is a complete tabletop role playing game in a world where science and aether have been combined. The core rulebook includes a dozen professions, over twenty skills, various steampunk weapons and gadgets, combat rules, skyship battle rules, over 100 magical invocations and scientific conventions, rules for owning and modifying a steam punk airship, playing card mechanics, and more.
Torg Eternity: Silent Night, Stormy Night is an adventure that is holiday themed for Torg Eternity. It's the first Christmas of the possibility wars, and it turned out Santa is real. You take on the role of Santa and his elves, or your own storm knights, and go round the world in a single night to deliver presents to the nice children.
Knuckle Sandwich is a simple tabletop role playing game based on thriller fiction, especially of Jim Heskett. Set in the modern world, it has you dealing with modern problems like organized crime and so forth.
Oddity High is a tabletop game a high school full of aliens, Espers, Ghosts, Demons, Eldritch Gods, sentient cats, et cetera. Set in a Japanese High School, you live in the space between normal and supernatural. It's influenced by anime, manga, etc.
Finally, Evil Genius Games has The Agency Files part three: the reptaurans and other strangeness. Designed for Everyday Heroes, it offers information on the three species that make up the Triumvirate of alien invaders.
With that, we will move on to RPG crowdfunding campaigns. Remember that contributing to a crowdfunding campaign should be done only at your own risk. This time a few computer and console role playing game crowdfunding campaigns caught my eye. We'll start with Koboo: The Tree Spirit. It is an action rogue-like platformer where you defend a forest against hunters. It takes elements from Metroidvanias and is designed for a short set of gameplay.
Cursed Order looks to be a somewhat lower budget offering. It has you playing an amnesiac who awakened in a forest a year ago. Now, someone who has befriended you, has betrayed your trust.
Moving on to tabletop crowdfunding , we'll start with Snowblind. It looks to be a 5th edition adventure, in a world where snow conceals alien secrets. It'll combine fantasy and sci-fi elements, and feature not only an adventure but a set of printable STL files.
Populated Hexes is looking to fund two more issues, issues 28 and 29, of their hex crawl supplement series for Old School Essentials. Issue 28 will cover a mountainous region, while issue 29 will focus on a mountain shrine.
Philip Reed has Deck of Old-School Encounters, a systemless fantasy set of RPG cards. It includes a set of 72 random encounters each set on cards either for quick generation during a game or for solo play.
Savage Gladiators will offer a way to play Roman arena based material using the Savage Worlds rules. It is a setting book that features fast gladiatorial combat, as well as having character creation rules, new hindrances and edges, rules for arena combat, new gear and weapons, and so forth.
The Hall is Dead will be a tabletop RPG with modular, customizable classes in a fantasy world with steampunk elements. It will include the setting, as well as an original system. It is designed to fall part way between systems like 5th edition, as well as more complex games like Deadlands Classic and Cyberpunk.
Finally, The Cha’alt Experience, will be an offering from Venger Satanis, that gives guidance on designing a gonzo style world, with material such as essays, workshops, tutorials, and random tables.
