Jukra

Jukra is a colorful city in the Republic of Miracleia, where the citizens are often said to be in a better mood than most. Situated in a tropical rainforest and on the edge of the Hartman Marsh, Jukra is well known for being hot, humid, and full of large insects. But there is one thing that keeps people from all across the land coming back year after year: the Jukra Contests. Warriors and contestants from across the Old Kingdom and beyond flock to Jukra for a chance at fame, fortune, and favor. Every five years, the Republic of Miracleia puts on the Jukra Contests, a competition of combat, bravery, brawn, wits, magic, and more. There are tournaments in jousting, melee, horse racing, dueling, hunting, strength, poetry, and spell creativity, to name a few. Winners are showered in gold and fame, and oftentimes appointed to positions of power within royal courts and organizations. The Republic has thrived since the Alhandrizian Rebellion, and as the only state to choose a democratic leadership, it may not appoint winners to positions within the country. Therefore, neighboring states heavily finance the Contests, in hopes to draw the very finest talent the land has to offer.
