The Watchman Way
"You there! Aye, I said you! What are you doing here? You want to become a master swordsman, eh? I hope you're sure of that cause not everyone can become a master here.
The method of training you would use most likely would land in a military branch that not just anyone can get into. The League of Watchmen. After that, you have to be good enough to get into the best team. Only there could you really become a master swordsman because that's where the best trainers reside. It'll take at least four years to learn how to use a sword proficiently then several more to master it, but it's doable.
You have to train nearly every day, rain or shine for several hours. The process is no picnic. You might get a few cuts for sure, but it'll be worth it in the end.
Your teachers would probably include Wurren and his team. Since you would be an apprentice in training, they would also train you to use the bow, knives, javelin, and maybe even do a little skulking.
While training, you might help defend the villages and farms near you and, if you are skilled enough, go on rescue and infiltration missions.
There would be no knighting service or trumpet fanfare when you finally get to the position of one of the best swordsmen in Asteri. Your team would tell you good job and congratulate you while no one else knows that you are one of the best sword wielders.
You're there. You are now one of the best. But, what will you do now with your skill? All the swordsmen decide to stay in the League so you would be the first to leave, but don't think that doing that is bad. There are other ways to serve the country."
