Etrian Varos

Etrian was born to a scholarly family, the youngest of three children, all of whom pursued academic paths. His parents were historians, devoted to understanding and documenting the evolution of the Tatharian culture. Growing up surrounded by books, manuscripts, and discussions of ancient history, Etrian naturally developed a fascination for the mysteries of the past. Unlike his siblings, who gravitated towards cultural and political history, Etrian was always drawn to the arcane—the Magic that once flowed freely through the world and shaped its destiny.   He enrolled at the Laboratorium as soon as he was able, driven by his desire to learn about the forgotten magic of pre-Extinguishment societies. During his early years, Etrian became known for his methodical approach, often spending days, if not weeks, poring over ancient tomes, reconstructing shattered texts, and meticulously documenting each artifact he studied. His dedication caught the attention of several of his professors, and he quickly moved from student to researcher.   Etrian's fascination with ancient artifacts led him to participate in numerous field expeditions, often to remote and dangerous locations. He developed a reputation for being cautious but persistent, always placing the safety of his team and the integrity of the historical record above personal glory. This approach earned him the respect of his peers, and he was eventually offered a permanent position at the Laboratorium, where he began mentoring younger scholars, including Linna Trevell, who shared his passion for ancient relics.   Throughout his career, Etrian remained focused on uncovering the mysteries of pre-Extinguishment civilizations. He believed that the artifacts left behind by these societies held secrets that could help the world understand its past mistakes and perhaps avoid repeating them. He often spoke of the Extinguishment not just as a historical event, but as a warning—one that modern society needed to heed if it were to avoid a similar fate.
