Interlude - Argus

While in Malea, a travelling circus came to the city. Argus was exploring the various distractions therein when he spotted a small, darkened tent in a quiet corner. Approaching, he realised it housed a fortune teller. Inside the tent was a wizened crone who motioned him to sit. With great care she slowly dealt out a mystical tarot. Argus noticed a strong resemblance to the cards from the Deck of Many Things. She looked alarmed as she read the tarot, predicting an ancient city in desolation, chaos claiming it, a raging fire, a civilisation in ruins. She foresaw that Argus had a choice, he could plot the destruction, or he could thwart it. Either way, it was merely a distraction from a far greater danger. Following that revelation, she sank back in her chair in an exhausted stupor. Argus took the opportunity to depart, with much to ponder.
