Play Session 11/8/21 - Battle of Moss Bridge -or- 18 Seconds of Assault and Battery

Round 1 - Regroup and Recovery

  Onyx steps up and fires a thorny volley of arrows across the bridge and hits the group of lizard kin. Jorn pulls himself back up onto the bridge and carefully backs over to the near side and readies himself for the onslaught he thinks is coming. Jilfaen stealthily flies up into the roof of the pit and holds action to catch anyone who may slip on the bridge. Gojira tries out his javelins to mixed results. Cava and Robin do what they do best: artillery support with a volley of arrows and arcane fire.

"Shofar...where's Shofar? Can anyone go wake up that sot?"

The lizard folk and yuan ti send a volley of arrows and javelins across the bridge but few find purchase.  

Round 2 - The Assault

  With his keen gloomstalker vision, Onyx continues his volley of thorns taking out one and distracting the others. Jorn shouts a request to be lifted by Jilfaen across the bridge which she does with her held action. Jorn assaults the lizard folk near where he's dropped while Jilfaen trips up one with her talon attack causing it to plummet into the pit. With his clawed feet, Gojira successfully crosses the bridge and readies his weapons of choice: battle axe and short sword. The lizard folk's attacks fall flat and a yuan-ti attempt to suggest to Jorn that the owl is an enemy is shrugged off. Robin lands two solid arrows within a 2" diameter circle painted on the chest of an enemy.

"Shofar???? Andhero?"

Gojira thankfully ducked on command or he might have shielded a lizard folk from Cava's fiery blast.  

Round 3 - And Battery

  In a move worthy of a bardic epic (if ours was sober enough to be paying attention), Onyx runs and slides down the moss covered bridge, weapons drawn, through Jorn's legs with a yell , and stabs up into an unsuspecting yuan-ti's gut for some sick folk hero damage. Jorn is lathered up at this point and puts a serious pounding on the snake-man's skull to the point his mommy wouldn't recognize him. Jilfaen does a claw attack on the yuan-ti who's on fire from Cava and partially blinds him. Poor thing! The two yuan-ti are barely standing and put up hardly a fight. Robin shouts,

"Duck!"

Thwack. Gojira axes the remaining snake man and twists in such a way so that Cava can finish him off with...you guessed it: a fiery spell. The last thing the poor, frightened snake-man hears echoing in his skull is a deafening roar. Jorn mutters to himself for what he knows won't be the last time,

"Tyr save us all!"

 

Aftermath

  Thoroughly spent and exhausted, Jilfaen transforms into a dire wolf, and circles in the way that canines do before dropping down into a deep sleep. Gojira and Jorn take first watch not sure that the group will get 8 unmolested hours of rest.   The End. Great 18 seconds.
