The Limit
Somewhere, beyond the mountains at the Edge of the Kingdom, lies the edge of the world itself. Children are told of the barrier that surrounds the kingdom, that always has and always will, thin like the fragile shell of a bubble but indestructible. Many long to see it, out beyond where they have gone before, but few make the journey, and no one returns. No, it seems that the edge of the world is a place where mortals were not meant to go, and the vast majority are too fearful to make the difficult climb over the mountains themselves to see what lies beyond, and why no one has ever returned. Most accept it as a universal truth that the world is the Kingdom and we are not meant to see the end, but some long to see what lies beyond the edge of the world. Rumors say Excelsis is blocking monsters from the outside, or that there is nothing aside from what he created, and the border will be expanded if he ever feels he need create more. Others argue that the Kingdom is trapped and belongs with the outside, although that talk is considered heretical. The consensus of the people is that it does not matter where the world ends, and they pay it no mind.
