The Feywild

The Feywild, also known as the Land of Waking Dreams, is the land where the conscious and subconscious combine, where grief can kill life and cause rain, imagination can manifest within reality, and thoughts can be infused with objects. Geometry is abstract, with distances always changing and morphing, never stable and always undefined. The laws of physics and reality are inconsistent, and the most dominant figures have their subconscious minds set the rules of the area around them.     Entering and leaving the Feywild:   There are many ways to enter the Feywild, but no logical ones. Some claim to have gotten there through following stone labyrinths to their center with their eyes closed. Others say they hopped across aqueducts in the Oasis without touching water and realize they were somewhere else than the Kingdom, although they never remember how they got back. Others have fallen into comas for months and awoken claiming to have lived lives of fairy tales and dreams, while others have said they were trapped in unending, illogical nightmares. Others have claimed to have meditated and awoken in a land that morphs to their desire. Those from the Feywild know the secret, that those who fall unconscious while thinking of their dreams being manifested in one of the many places in the world where the Feywild and Material Plane are closer together will be transported to the Fey immediately. Once there, it is harder to get back. You must fully mentally disconnect your logical thoughts and emotions in the Feywild, and if done successfully a seemingly bottomless hole will open under your feet, and you will appear in the material plane again.   The most prominent region in the Feywild is the Hanging Kingdom, a nation of silver hanging from the sky by thread bound to nothingness. The capital of this kingdom is the Silver Castle, home to the Triumvirate. The Triumvirate are the three lords of the Hanging Kingdom. The first is the Silent, who represents thoughtfulness and action. The second is the Lucid, who represents peace and control over ones mind, boasting the greatest Mneumomancy ability ever seen. Finally, there is the Blind, who judges all impartially and represents the chaotic but fair nature of the Feywild.   One known region is the Forgotten Library , housing all that has been lost. It is an enormous building, filled with the structures of buildings burned long ago, a variety of architectures from societies long forgotten. All knowledge is here as long as no one knows it any longer, including lost spell books and rituals of ancient and powerful beings. There are sculptures of heroes unknown, portraits long burned or destroyed, and the last memories of thousands of lovers, children, and spouses.   Strongly feeling different emotions in the Feywild can lead to unpredictable results for those who do not have exceptional control over the nature of the realm.
