City of Reeds

As you wade through the ankle-high mud and push through the reeds and grass you hear the buzzing of flies and the wet squish of your feet pushing on your soggy clothes. As you make it though the area, a city reveals itself. Before you, step-pyramids are superimposed over the horizon, and a city of sandstone buildings rises, branching out from a center ziggurat. Each wall on every building, it seems, is painted with murals and artworks of all types depicting enough stories to fill a library. The outskirts of the city have wooden buildings, almost makeshift, that are built around the full circumference of the border.    The City of Reeds is an ancient city that is run by military forces, and produces most of the guards and high-ranking military members in the Kingdom come from here. They also have a large culture of art and passing down the stories of great heroes, with parents spreading aspirations of greatness to their children, making the motto of the City of Reeds “Keep your face in the sun,” a lesson to accept hardship, because challenge makes heroes.
