River's Gift Festival

This is a traditional folk holiday marking the completion of the year’s timber-floating season. It is traditionally presided over by the Braelin River Warden.

• Floating lanterns are released into the Timbrel River as an offering of thanks to open the festival before first light on the first day. A similar ritual takes place late in the evening to close the festival on the last day to commemorate those lost on the river during previous seasons.
• River-folk hold friendly competitions (tightrope-walking between log rafts, knot races, swimming races).
• The Council of Braelin issues commendations for bravery or rescue work on the river.
