Braelin Stocktaking
The Braelin Stocktaking is not so much a festival as it is a traditional period to close down trade in order to take stock of inventories prior to the winter freeze, which shuts down river traffic and can make road travel difficult. This signals the traditional closing of the trading season. Warehouse managers work with owners to inventory remaining goods and to ensure that anything that cannot survive the winter in storage is transported prior to winter's full onset.
- All warehouses switch to inventory mode for two days—no trade.
- The Braelin Minister of Accounts posts preliminary tariff proposals for winter, which are then fully discussed by the Council of Braelin and all interested parties from Stocktaking until the Closing of the Gates when the new rates are announced.
Observance
