If I Was A Dragon...
If I was a dragon, I would be a Library Dragon.
If I was a dragon, I would live in a library. Preferably one built in an old castle. Just miles and miles and miles of books and stories and ideas from all over. I could wander the halls, running my fingers over their spines, pull them down from the shelves, form them in stacks, organize them any way I wanted. Surrounded everywhere with tapestries and scrolls and art and music, anthing that tells a story. And any time you turn around, the perfect seat: a silk sack stuffed with cuddle foam.
If I was a dragon who lived in a library, I would let people come and copy my books. But only if they take the time to do it by hand. I wouldn't lend my books. Too many careless people. Too many innocent accidents. Too many mischief-makers.
If I was a dragon who lived in a library and let people come in to copy my books, I would only eat cookies and tea. Maybe some coffee if I was feeling frisky, but just as an occasional treat. Cookies would be the price of admission to the library, you see. Pens and pencils and paper galore. All the supplies you need, lined, gridded, blank, dotted in different colors, weights, textures, and materials. Just bring cookies. Or at least a cookie.
If I was a dragon who lived in a library and let people come in to copy my books and only ate cookies and tea, I would take great delight in disguising myself to interact with people around he library. Sometimes I would be a human, tending the books and helping people find their way, or having fascinating discussions of phiolosophy and literature and art with the people who come and read. Other times, I would be a cat to curl up with the lonely people and the kind people, and the people who bring extra cookies because they get joy from sharing.
If I was a dragon who lived in a library and let people come in to copy my books and only ate cookies and tea and disguised myself all the time, instead of breathing fire, I would exhale an aura of whispering. Not everyone has the practiced self-control required to respect shared space. Dragons, however, demand respect and those who do not wish to give the simple respect of chill vibes will have their vibes non-threateningly chilled for them.
This would make a superb children's book! You're a master of styles it seems.
