Day 22: Progress Report
Follow along with my WorldEmber progress!
I promised you a look over my shoulder this month as I bring a vague and disjointed collection of ideas together into a cohesive piece of world-building. These resources will help you keep track of my progress through this month-long marathon challenge:
- Haly’s Official WE Progress Report — each participant gets a page that automatically collects their author information and all WE-eligible articles across all worlds into a single, shareable package.
- Haly’s WorldEmber on Argentii Index — an on-the-fly journal page and handy sidebar displaying only new Argentii WE-eligible articles.
I Wasted the Day Being Productive
Progress is rarely measured in a straight line, and the route to our goals is often fraught with twists and turns.
Today was spent working on redesigning my website, MoonlightBard.com. There are so many changes going on behind the scenes to get ready for the New Year! I’ve got exciting plans, challenging goals, and a number of surprises lined up. (Hint: worldbuilding advent calendar.)
Community Check-Up
Another productive corner of my day was the time I spent hanging out with my creative community! Most of my work time was done during Strixxline’s Twitch stream. And of course I was in both my own Discord server as well as the World Anvil Discord.
Surrounding myself with creative people is the surest way I’ve found to keep my own creativity flowing. Creativity breeds inspiration. This, in turn, forms a perpetual cycle of new ideas, new art, and entire new worlds of thought and fancy.
Rhapsody by Moonlight is built on a “Pay What You Want” model.
Please show your support by buying me a coffee on Ko-fi!
Worldbuilding Consultant
One of the things I’m excited to dive into after the new year is giving a more formal launch to my service as a worldbuilding consultant. Helpful is my brand, and worldbuilding is what I’m best at. Therefore, I’m leaning into these strengths.
This isn’t a coaching service, I’m not teaching you how to scam people into a pyramid scheme or MLM. What I am offering is my valuable time and professional expertise as a short-term, freelance, worldbuilding partner.
My weekly advice column, “Ask the Bard,” is a wonderful way to get a quick answer to a general question. But many projects need more in-depth, personal attention.
So, if you feel like there’s something wrong in the background of your story and need help making the pieces fit together smoothly, I want to help!
Wrapping the Day
Please, please send me your WORLD-BUILDING questions NOW!! I want to pre-schedule my 12/25 and 1/1 posts so that I can maximize the time I spend with my family on these holidays!
As I write this, I am sitting at 31,592 new words of world-building toward my 50,000-word goal.
