The Gluttonous
The gluttonous possess an unquenchable thirst for the acquisition of wealth, power, etc. The repulsive creatures festoon their horribly bloated bodies with various trappings of wealth. The thing which the gluttonous value most is the essence of like-minded creatures. It is this essence which allows them to regain a comparatively less abhorrent outward appearance (the gluttonous are the only emotionborn which do not subsist on essence). They covet essence to such an extent that they distill it (through unknown means) and hoard it, unwilling to use it. Essence vials are used as a status symbol just as other, more natural beings, use jewels.
