Silvermoon

Garth, Ethan

This city is infested with shadow beasts. Its once gleaming architecture has been darkened by them. It is now a city of shadows. A sepulcher of lost knowledge.

Demographics

There were a variety of different wealth classes within Silvermoon, as well as different classes of people. At the lowest were the workers, but they kept the city running and trade moving. Above them were the primary military forces, with all ranks in order. Next in line were the might Blood Knights, a powerful group of Crimson Elf Paladins, lead by the legendary Lady Liadrin. Most Blood Knights were once members of the Royal Guard, proud defenders of high elven society, each one fought bravely in the defense of Silvermoon, it isn't known if any are left however but if they are they will be mighty allies to have. Next were the Farstriders, a group of elite elven rangers who were often tasked with guarding the borders of Silvermoon. They were led at the time by Lady Sylvanas Windrunner Ranger General of Silvermoon, but when she fell in battle most of her Rangers fell as well, but if any remain, they would be formidable allies. Above them were the mighty Magisters of the Crimson Elves. The Magisters were a group of powerful mages and wizards led my Grand Magister Belo'Vir, these mages were some of the primary defenses against the shadows, while powerful these elves were also defeated during the unholy battle. Those who survived the initial battle went with Prince Kael'thas on his team to cleanse the Moonwell, those who went were Magister Astalor, Magister Rommath, and Magister Kelendris, it is known that Magister Astalor fell, however for Rommath and Kalendris it is not known if they lived or died in the battle. It is believed however that some from every caste may live, or escaped SIlvermoon. Above the Magisters was Halduron Brightwing the Captain of the Guard, he was in charge of most of the Military of Silvermoon, and was a master tactician, and led many battles to victory, however the Fall of Silvermoon was inevitable and he was pushed back. He was also on the team to cleanse the Moonwell, and saved Lore'themar's live of many occasions, it is not known if he survived the battle or not, but if he did the Crimson elves would have a powerful leader to lead them. Above Halduron was Lore'themar, or as the crew knows him as Killian Jones, Lore'themar was the Reagent Lord of Silvermoon, the leader of all the Armies, and controller of most trade and decisions with other outlying areas. He was usually one of the people sent out by the Glorious Ones in search for magical artifacts. He was one of the many soldiers on the front lines of most of the battles during the Fall of Silvermoon, and helped as many elves as he could escape Silvermoon before he went on the team to cleanse the Moonwell. He is known to have survived the battle, and is currently Captaining over the crew of the Devil's Storm. Above him was Prince Kael'thas and then King Anasterian or the Crimson King. Kael'thas led the team to cleanse the Moonwell and it is believed he died doing so because he was never seen again. King Anasterian fell in the Battle for Silvermoon as he tried to hold back the leader of the Shadowed assault, and failed but he gave time for his people to escape the unholy onslaught of the Shadows.

Infrastructure

The northern portion of the city is where the markets, libraries and schools once were. Farther into the city on that side is the political/noble district. At the end of this district lies the Kings' Hall. On the southern side of the city lie the workers' and military districts. It is in this part of the city that the most destruction was dealt.

History

Silvermoon was a great city which rooted itself before the glorious ones began their social experiments. The city is built around the moonwell: a font of powerful magic spanning the city grounds. (It is not known whether the well still flows or if it has been corrupted by the shadows) The glorious ones shaped the city into a hub of knowledge and magic. For thousands of years the city stood as an arcane beacon. (both literally and physically) People from around the world traveled to see its wonderful architecture and study magic.

The primary denizens and protectors of the city, the crimson elves were (and remain) a proud and highly magical people. they are comprised of any who are so bold as to be anointed with the waters of the moonwell. Crimson elves who left the city often left seeking powerful artifacts and other magicks. These items were hastily returned to silvermoon. All items the glorious ones did not deem too powerful or problematic were stored in a great vault system whose entrance lies beneath the city. (It is not known whether or not these vaults were compromised by the shadows(the items held within have not been seen since silvermoon's fall))

Soon after the great loss Silvermoon fell. It was assailed by shadowy beasts which the glorious ones had kept at bay. The battle raged for days upon days, lasting nearly a month but silvermoon fell nonetheless. The shadowy hordes overran the city and became twisted by its magic. In a last ditch effort to save the city, its prince, Kael'thas tapped directly into the depths of the moonwell. This action allowed the residents of the city to be evacuated in full but he was never seen again.

Architecture

Silvermoon was a large golden and red city full of glorious towers and statues. These statues are of great warriors and scholars such as Lore'themar Theron, Halduron Brightwing, Sylvanas Windrunner, Prince Kael'thas, and King Anasterian, Lady Liadrin, Magister Rommath, and High Magister Belo'Vir.
