Midnight Blossoms

Trae
Midnight blossoms are small, silvery-white and delicate flowers native to areas of high concentration of sylvan magic as well as deep forests all over the world of Reypelulent. These special flowers only grow at night and despise direct sunlight. (The flowers wither when put in sunlight) This can make them notoriously difficult to grow, as they avoid areas that receive direct sunlight while maintaining a strong connection to the moon's gaze.   Infused with mystical power, these flowers glow with bioluminescent light around a person's most favorable desire. In rare cases the blossoms may reach out to specific people with positive auras, creating a path for the chosen one to follow. Occasions like these are much more common at nighttime, as the glow is barely perceptible in daylight.   The power of these blossoms was discovered and put to use long ago, when clashing tribes would put aside their differences and end their conflict with a tribal marriage comprising spouses from both sides. During the marriage ceremony, it was not uncommon to test the will of the spouses by making them each hold one of these blossoms, trying to determine if the one beside them is their ever most desire. If the flower was not to glow, then it was signified that one does not truly love the other, and the fighting would ensue until the spouses felt a true connection.   Although the flower possesses very strong mystical abilities, it's consciousness is very delicate. Treating the flower in a negative way can cause it to decay at an exceptional rate. As well as this, the blossom also reflects the behaviors of the one who is nearest it most. If a traveler looking for his innermost desire were to become frustrated or ill-minded, the flower would grow uneasy, unsure of what it's (be)holder wants. It will then lead the adventurer astray, inching the person into a constant downward spiral of lost hope and abandonment. It should be known, therefore, that the flower does not in fact help the adventurer, but instead gains a mutual benefit. While the flower gains positive recognition and a healthy lifestyle, the player receives a reward as well.   Also Known As: Twilight blossom, Faerie Flower
