Laguz

Laguz come in 3 main classifications. Beast laguz are mamalian, with the general distinction between cats, tigers, lions and wolves being the primary subspecies. rabbit and fox based laguz have been recorded in myth. They are all large creatures, with Lion Laguz when transformed easily being the size of a large horse. Bird laguz are Avian, delicate bones, and wings in both human and transformed forms. They come in primarily Crow/raven, Hawk, and Heron Varients. Finally are the dragon laguz. Bipedal even when transformed, they're main varients are red dragons, white dragons, and Black dragon laguz as the rarest but most powerful forms. Dragon laguz when transformed are the 10ft or more.

Cat- anywhere from cheetah to leopard in size when transformed. when in human from, they are average size, but retain animalistic ears and tails. they have markings on their faces and body, usually stripes or other marking. Their fur can be a variety of colors, from red to blue to brown, but are generally tanish orange.   Tigers- Larger than regular tigers, between 5-7 feet at shoulder. Dark greys, blues, or browns are common colors. Like cat laguz, they retain ears and tails, and body markings.   Lions- Around 6-8 ft at shoulder. can have reddish down to black fur. Like other beast laguz, they retain markings and ears+tails.   Wolves- 5-7 ft at shoulder. They come in any color a real earth wolf might. They retain body markings and ears and tails in human form.   Crows- wingspan of at least 8 ft. they come in blacks with tints of other colors in their feathers when transformed. they tend to have muted hair colors, black or dark brown. Large birdlike wings come from their backs even in human form. realatively short, between 4- 5.9 ft tall in human form.   Ravens- wingspan of at least 10 ft. their feathers tend to be black with tints of other colors. In human from, their hair is generally dark, but not a muted color. they have wings. 5-6 ft in human form.   Hawks- Tawny browns, golds, darker browns. . . what you'd expect their colors to be. . . Wingspan is at least 12 ft, but easily can be 18 or more when transformed. hair like crows are muted colors like brown. 5-7 ft tall when in human form   Herons- most delicate of all laguz. at least a 12 ft wingspan. anywhere from 4-6 ft tall. colors for feathers can range from greys, to blues greens and browns, to pure white. Hair can be blonde, grey, or more natural human colors when in human form. Wings on back while in human form.   Red Dragons- 8-10 ft tall when transformed from head to feet (Dragon laguz are bipedal and have an upright stature, akin to lizardfolk or kobolds). scales can range from pink to a dark maroon. Hair can range from bright red to brown when in human form. height similar to humans. All dragon Laguz have markings on their face and rest of body, as well as pointy ears.   White dragons- Scales can be silvery white to a creamy white, ect. they are 8-10 ft tall when transformed. they tend to have pale hair, light blues, whites, yellows.   Black Dragons- Scales are always black, with tan on the bellies and throats. They can be 13-18 ft tall when transformed. when in human form, they have red markings (well, red markings in either form). they tend to have red eyes and dark/ black hair. average human heights.

Laguz cannot reproduce with other species outside of the laguz. Doing so results in both parent and child loosing all abilities related to their laguz blood, minus an extended life span.

All laguz, outside of possibly Dragon laguz grow at about the same rates as humans, but in herons and dragons growth slows after around 15-20 years.

Bird Laguz live either in peaks, islands, or other high altitude open air spaces. Herons particularly however live in spacious forests. Beast Laguz live in jungles or forests, but can live out even in the desert. Dragons live in warm, somewhat arid places.

All but herons are omnivorous. Herons are vegetarians.

Beast laguz shed seasonally. Dragon laguz shed when they need to grow when they're younger.

Royal Laguz are the species that reign at the top of the hierarchy. Lion Laguz are the Royal laguz of the feline Laguz. Black dragons are the most powerful and longest lived of the dragon species. White herons are those who contain the most potent Galdr. Hawks do not have a direct succession, but rather have a succession based on strength and other qualities. Ravens are the royal strain out of crow/raven laguz.

Many have been sold as slaves or curiosities.

In human form, Beasts and dragons have facial markings. beasts also have animalistic tails and hears. Birds have wings and pointed ears. Dragons have pointed ears, but may also have some scales.

human like for most. Dragons and Herons can exhibit super-human intelligence of some level. Dragons tend to enjoy puzzles and strategy. Riddles. Beasts like the hunt, feats of strength and camaraderie. Birds vary from piracy to . . . singing depending on the species.

All laguz have dark vision, keen smell/hearing, and proficiency in unarmed strikes. Beyond that, they're abilities vary. Dragon and Bird laguz can fly. All have increased movement speed when transformed.

The Feline beasts have their own kingdom. Herons have their own Kingdom. Hawks have their own kingdom. Ravens/crows have their own kingdoms. Dragons have their own kingdoms. Wolves have their own kingdoms. The various laguz factions tend to ally together, but there are contentions between hawks and ravens.
