Bag of Devouring
A bag of devouring resembles an average bag which can be of any design. Within the bag there resides an extradimentional creature. The opening of the bag functions as its mouth. The creature shuts its mouth when its bag is inverted.
The extradimensional creature residing within the bag can sense whatever is placed inside the bag. Animal or vegetable matter placed wholly in the bag is devoured. When part of a living creature is placed in the bag (ex. the hand of the unfortunate person who believes the bag to be a bag of holding) there is a 50 percent chance that the creature is pulled inside the bag. A creature inside the bag can use its action to try to escape with a successful DC 15 Strength check. Another creature can use its action to reach into the bag to pull a creature out, doing so with a successful DC 20 Strength check (provided it isn't pulled inside the bag first). Any creature that starts its turn inside the bag is devoured. If an organic thing is held in the mouth of the bag for quite some time (maybe 30 seconds) the creature who is (within) the bag will bite down on the delicious morsel it has been offered.
Inanimate objects can be stored in the bag, which can hold a cubic foot of such material. However, once each day, the bag swallows any objects inside it. The creature is capable of digesting most things but has an aversion to metal. If the bag consumes a metal item it will likely get sick and vomit the items it recently consumed (in varying states of digestion) into The Shallows where they drift toward The Mortal Realms.
If the bag is pierced, torn, etc. the creature within is grievously wounded and (if the wound is not fatal) will detach itself from the bag.
The creature is shapeless and largely incomprehensible.
Old bags of holding as well as improperly/shoddily made bags of holding have a high likelihood of becoming bags of devouring.
