Flight Of The Fey

The archfey stood, their court at hand,
Bathed in twilit light.
“Speeches I do not often make,
But hear all, of my plight--
  I see dreams of banishers,
Who soon shall breach our home
To raze our trees, to burn our books
And turn our kin to stone.”

  The west was torn asunder,
The woods were set ablaze.
Our Lady ran, Gods bless her soul,
For numbered were her days.
Through the green and to the gate,
Her scout took her to hide.
Plant-life bowed at his command--
Give passage as they died,
  But when the last Remember-thou
Had let its petals drop,
The Banishers found the Lady’s scout,
And forced them both to stop.
  Faithless were the Banishers,
The ground quaked as they tread
Struck down was the darling scout,
His spring face bathed in red.
  “For Lady, my Lady,
We all will stand our ground
For Lady, dear lady,
We know our deaths are bound
  Go on, dear without me-
Our lives shall not be in vain;
And if you still love me,
we’ll never meet again."

The Lady fled alone, in fear
As shadows took her side
They begged to come to safety,
But she fought back and cried
  The shadows took our Lady,
Whose weeping was not seen.
Night falls, and so does our tale
Of the Scout and Celestine.
