The Coughing Plague

The Coughing Plague was a devastating disease that ravaged the populations of the central kingdoms but also had effects as far afoot as Breuic and even across the Darosti Sea. The disease was first noticed to have been causing excessive deaths in the eastern region of the Greater Bryn Valley, the Mandate of Balomir and the eastern provinces of the Kingdom of Durabryn suffering a wave of deaths particularly amongst the infirm and elderly. Its spread amongst the population was rapid and it was not long before it had spread far beyond these initial areas of note. The disease was particularly concerning for wider society due to the extended nature of the illness, while a healthy and young individual might have escaped death from the coughing plague, they often suffered for months with near debilitating effects of its symptoms.
