Pola River

The Pola River is a major river that is located within the Doric region. The river for the initial part of its journey runs along the northern foot of the Doric mountains, before turning north-westwards north of Lake Tegra. The Pola then passes by the fortress of Pilkala before turning even more northerly. The Pola finally passes the town of Poltama and the city of Kilncross (by which the Pola can be crossed by bridge) before it becomes a tributary to the Tora River.   The source of the Pola River lies at the foot of the Baneswood, the numerous streams and flows that emanate from the steep cliff edges and slopes that comprise the western edge of the forest. The town of Polata is often referred to as the rivers beginning despite the river flowing from many miles north-eastward.
