Partador

Partador is a fortress that lies on the eastern opening to Kasta's Pass, effectively acting as the primary defensive settlement of the Grand Duchy of Canyndor's heartland. The fortress itself is of old origin, built in a primary spot on the low hillside that has been occupied for millennia by the Doric people and likely even nomads before that. Due to this long history of settlement, the fortress itself still retains large sections of wall and foundations leftover from previous defensive structures that had been built on that very hillside, the most agreed upon guess of historians is that seven or more significant fortresses have stood on the hill at Partador.
Partador, during the times of the old kings such as the great Altti who was in fact born there, served as a military outpost and minor palace of the Caenen Kingdom. In modern times, the fortress is primarily a military barracks and temporary palace for the local lord and/or Surcount to reside at, most locals instead live out in the country in hamlets or on their own parcels of land. If one were to visit the fortress they would first be greeted by the tall and narrow gate that leads into the rest of the complex, above the arch of which the traditional crest of Partador is displayed in stone, a set of crossed keys upon a white cross on black.
