Kingdom of Ilkarda

The Kingdom of Ilkarda was formed by Ardic migrant who had travelled south from the Arda Valley, settling in the modern Surcounty of Sjolund. The Ardic migrants would settle the lands there, trading and gaining influence amongst the locals, eventually coming to control most of the land north of the Tora river in the region. This new territory would be ruled by a dynasty of Ardic kings who would rule from the settlement of Sjolund, which derives its name from the first Ardic kings who ousted the previous rulers. This Ardic kingdom would find itself in a power struggle between the southern Ardic kingdom of Bolot, itself settled by migrants, and the dominant Caenan Kingdom, which inhabited central Doria. Though eventually, the Caenan Kingdom would come to subjugate the Ardic kingdoms of Bolot and Ilkarda, the families of influence in the region would still be linked by lineage and culture to the old kingdoms that came before.
