Huwe

Huwe is a sergeant in service with the local garrison at Eidehn. Though he has lived within the Surcounty of Eidehn for the entirety of his life, his family has old connection to Durabryn and thus his name has a Brynic origin. He was born and raised in the small village of Oulko, south of Eidehn, where he and his family lived as villeins and labourers to the local baron. Due to conflicts of lands borders and the desecration of holy monuments, conflicts arose between the Surcount of Eidehn and the Surcount of Rydant - as a banner of the Surcount of Eidehn, the baron of Oulko was called to bear arms for his liege, in doing so, recruited a young Huwe to his company at the age of 14. the conflicts between the rival Surcounts proved to be bloody, so much in fact that the Grand Duke himself had to put an end to the dispute, an intervention which led to much of the Surcounty of Eidehn east of the Yarrow being ceded to the Surcounty of Rydant. Despite this, Huwe proved himself to be competent and adept at combat. Having earned enough money to buy his freedom from villeiny, Huwe chose to leave Oulko and travel to Eidehn in order to enlist at the garrison there, where he would remain till this day. During his stationing at Eidehn, Huwe would become good friends with Gerhad, another soldier enlisted there, son of the local stablemaster. They would become close over a series of conflicts in which they fought together, ultimately culminating in their involvement in the Doric-Ajian war. This war would see Gerhad lose his son and his career as a soldier, Huwe lost not only his parents to the famine that followed the conflict, but also his romantic interest, Amikka, the daughter of a local ironmonger. Huwe would continue to serve at the garrison, though a shell of his former self.
