Coal

Coal is primarily used for industrial uses within the central kingdoms, the furnaces of Vilhma within the Grand Duchy of Canyndor having used the resource for millennia given its abundance in the Redcrest Mountains. Though sometimes used as a heating and cooking fuel within homes, it is often replaced by its cheaper counterpart, Charcoal. However, in the northern lands where trees are more sparse and heating is needed to survive the harsh winters, coal is an immensely valuable resource. Perhaps one of the greatest testaments to the use of this resource is the city of Laaksonhall. The city is well known for its endless coal mines that stretch deep and far into the earth, proving to be a life-giver and taker for many of the locals.
