Bellows
Bellows are an important tool that is primarily associated with the smelting of ores at a furnace, such as the production of Iron. The bellows operate by having a cavity in which air may be drawn in and then blown out with considerable force simply by operating two adjoining handled wooden boards. The cavity is generally made using white leather (hare skin and oxhide) affixed to two wooden boards. Bellows vary greatly in size but due to the necessity of their proper function and sometimes the large cavity that is required, they can be one of the most expensive tools used by a smelter.
