Common / Phrase

"Wash your mouth out and then some!"     The phrase dreaded by the lazy and weak.     But an all-too-common demand.     This phrase is common amongst every family in countries such as Aswary and even large cities in countries like Opron and Yesmos as well.     It is, rather simply, a demand for the mentioned to clean themselves up much better than they had already. It is commonly used as an encouragement rather than an derogatory phrase, used to bolster the appearance of someone especially in the younger ages to make a good habit of washing and cleaning themselves and wearing fitting and appropriate clothing to outings and other common events. It can be used as a derogatory phrase though, but this would require an obviously negative tone of voice and appearance by the one speaking it, but it considered rude to use it this way, as it is seen as an offense against those who have already spent time preparing for an event.      The phrase is thought to have originated in the eighteenth century, around the same time that bathing and hygiene soaps were invented for modern times. Other types of soap had been made and used many centuries before in the times of old Empires and Dynasties, but the modern times were different, and soaps had become encouraged as a hygiene improvement after the more filth-ridden ages that had come and gone in recent times.      It is a phrase still commonly used in families and their homes to this day.
