Aswary

Western Rethium.   Aswary.   The largest country on the continent.   And the most modernized land on the planet.   The country of Aswary is located on the western side of the continent of Rethium, and it stretches all the way from the southern coast of the continent and to the northern coast, thereby making it the country with the largest land area and the country with the largest known population-per-square-mile spread of all countries.   It is also the most modernized.   The country of Aswary was founded around the same time as the other countries around it, by a large group of Humans, Elves, Nathair and even a small group of Psedi, although it is not known to which location the latter moved after the country was founded. Due to the overly abundant natural resources such as stone, metal, wood and other resources, many towns and villages quickly began to appear across the country, situated especially around the mountains and along the coastline to the west which looked out to the oceans and towards the Histian Empire which was located to the further west of Rethium across the ocean. It is known that due to the severe abundance of these natural resources and others, expansion and modernization were readily achievable, though for the sake of time and natural continuation, many possibilities were not sought after until the people and their locales and needs had caught up with the evolution of those races and their homes.    As the towns and villages turned into cities and dominated the landscape, so too did their exploration of the country that they had inhabited so many thousands of years earlier.    There are a total of five mountain ranges in Aswary. The first of them are The Blue Mountains. This range extends northward from the southern coast, bordering between Aswary and Pagrad to the east. The Skyline Peaks branch to the west roughly halfway down The Blue Mountains, reaching across the country towards the western coast, where the mountains also reach to the south and southwest to form an almost natural bowl in the landscape where an unexplored and large forest can be found in the landscape. After crossing through a large and natural pass in which access into Aswary can be gained, the range called The White Mountains begins, stretching ever northwards towards the northern coast. Two mountain ranges split from The White Mountains, these being the Static Mountains, which stretch westward and then north and south along the country's landscape. It is the third-longest mountain range in the country after the Blue and White Mountains. The Conduit Mountain range follows after the Static Mountains. The Conduit Mountains is the shortest mountain range in the country of Aswary.    A small number of forests can be found in the country as well, and they are listed from southernmost to northernmost as follows: Elwood, Woodpot Roadway Wood - which stretches along the Woodpot Country Roadway, which is a long interstate roadway in the country -, Redwood, Greenwood, Brecwood and Bluebell Grove, all of these being forests of various sizes and also known to have not been inhabited by any cities or towns of the country, save for possibly unlisted Psedi civilizations in the country.    There are a total of twenty-nine cities that cover the country from south to north, and they are listed in imperfect order as follows from south to north: Pristine, Emerald, Cricket, South, Pulsar, Typewar, Dasker, Blackfont, Balkon, Lapis, Starlight Station, Plug, Palon, Evelan, Redwood, East, Old North, Inkwell Common, Highwire, Hydrome, Hazard Harbor, Whitewall, Marble, Coast, Bastion, Neon, Ballpoint Center, Diamond and New North. Of these cities, Highwire is the largest both in the country and in the continent, even larger by a certain percentage than the city of Opron Center, which is the most-populated city in the continent's eastern reaches where it can be found in Opron's Garden County as the capital city. Highwire is the most modernized city in the world by the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and is also known for being the world's most powerful trade, commerce, industry and travel hub. Hundreds of major companies can be found in this city, especially the internet pioneer company called AetherNet, which was founded around the early to mid twentieth century before becoming a top-secret technologies company with a less-than-attractive safety record for their work and the many inventions they were known for creating and dumping overly-spended money into before commonly losing out on said inventions and their investments.  Several races call this country home. Humans, Elves, Psedi, Kitsune, Nathair, Fielne, Anseryan, Lesser Orc, Owl-folk, Karasu and the Goblin race. The humans occupy a niche of about fifty percent, followed closely by the Elves with forty-eight percent and the Psedi's forty-six percent. Following not too far behind, the Kitsune hold tightly to forty-four percent, the Nathair with forty-two percent, the Fielne with forty percent and the Anseryan with thirty-eight percent. Behind them still come the Lesser Orc, who take up thirty-five percent, with the Owl-folks' thirty percent and the Goblins' nineteen percent slightly lagging behind. The Karasu, not being a very far-flung race as opposed to their Owl-folk neighbors, only hold to roughly between fifteen and twelve percent of the population, as their race is more accustomed to living in their small towns and villages nestled quietly within the secluded depths of the forests and jungles of their home country, Pagrad.   There are known to be several large power stations across the country that are responsible for feeding energy to the more than twenty-four cities across the country. There is Pulsar Station, the southernmost of them which feeds power to seven cities in total, before being cut off from the upper regions. Starlight Station doubles as both a city and a power station, sending energy to six total cities that run between the western coast and the eastern borders. Further north is Hydrome Station, which feeds power to the city of the same first name as well as four other nearby cities. The final station, Bastion, although not registered as a power source, sends it's power to the six northernmost cities in the country. Highwire is large enough that it is provided with it's own power stations, many of which are located out to sea due to the nature of the extreme weather conditions known to plague the western coastline especially during the spring, fall and winter seasons when energy consumption is at it's greatest peak. The excess energy has been pioneered to divert to city safety measures such as their vast and power seawalls which protect the city's coastal regions from potentially lethal or destructive storms, especially tsunami's and even the occasional hurricane, though not many of these have struck the western coast in recent years despite the unnaturally severe weather patterns of the area. Highwire borders the Thhhraeae Ocean to the west, and is a major transport and sailing hub for the rest of the world, and it's coastal history began with the sea. The country's - and Highwire's - major export is fish and other products, as well as clothing, clothing materials and even books, paper and one of their most coveted materials known as Bluegrass, which is a type of grass that can be used as a food additive for flavor and preservation purposes used by restaurants and other venues.    It is the second-most populated nation next to Opron, and is one of the oldest civilizations on the planet next to the Histian Empire, Vibricanth and Ethlemthos, as well as one of the most famous for it's historical significance. It is further the origin country of the modern automobile, though it has been known that other countries and continents have not evolved to the point where their needs for transport have come to the same or generally equal level as Aswary, which manufactures several hundred-thousand cars every year to accomodate for the growing population.    One of it's most famous inhabitants was the mob boss Agnes Albicio Albergotti, who was a Highwire occupant through the early nineteen hundreds until her death in the late nineteen-hundreds at the age of sixty-two in nineteen-seventy-five.
