Enoch-Vacilicus

The Tale of the Serpent-Men

    Hailing from the far eastern archipelago of Miniter Ait, the Enoch-Vacilicus (which will henceforth be referred to as simply the “Enoch”) were an isolated species, being the only creatures of higher intelligence in a dangerous world. Miniter Ait is made up of mostly jungle, steep hills, and jagged cliffs. The waves of Sea Halvista that crash against its many shores seem almost agitated, carving the stone into spear tips. Existence for the Enoch was an uphill battle from the very beginning, but they were destined to take the world by the throat. That is what the Whisperer promised.   The Enoch are known as one of the Predecessors created by the Constructor Idols, this one known as Oro-boros. They were not nomads by any means, so on their islands they remained for thousands of years.   Sszyth was Oeyr's first child. Oeyr found his ambitions were much too large and threatened the very balance of things. The father-- as much as he valued the perfect efficiency he had created-- could not bear the destruction of his son, so he cast him out, to the borders of the world. In time, Sszyth grew to resent his father, and rebelled. Forcing Oeyr's hand, the snake was slain, but his spirit remained, scattered to the ends of the earth. Oeyr pitied his son's malformed creations, begetting them to live in their far off land where they could do no harm.     After being cast back to their homeland of Miniter Ait, the Enoch spent a long period of time stagnant. It was not until their creator Sszyth was able to recoalesce some of his scattered essence centuries later that they began to receive guidance again.         The Enoch-Vacilicus were considered completely wiped out before they could witness the culmination of their greatest work: The Shattering, heavily in part due to their own hubris. Nonetheless, it is unlikely the events of the Godswar would have transpired without the snake people's machinations. These reptilian humanoids were masters of magic, but eventually their pure thirst for power and revenge was their undoing.      

Legacy

Though they themselves were lost, the world would forever bear the scars of the war they made sure transpired.   The Enoch and dwarves were working on a machine that could potentially gather numidia from Miasma-Numidia and perhaps even convert it into a higher tier form of technonumia, but it never came to fruition. Their plans and perhaps an incomplete machine may still exist in the ruins of Miniter Ait. If such plans were uncovered, terrible powers once thought myth could become reality.
