More Notes on Tèarmann Nàdair

Tèarmann Nàdair is a sheltered region bordered by the Rock River, Silver River, Loch Soilleir, and the swamps north of the lake. The land is predominantly woodland, interspersed with scattered farms.

Settlements

There is one town and three main villages, additionally there are multiple small hamlets. The three villages are:
  • Gobha – The largest village, situated in the south at the confluence of the Sable and Silver Rivers.
  • Tuanthanas – Located in the west along the Rock River.
  • Seillean – Found in the northeast.

At the heart of the region is the town of Creag Edach, where the manor-castle of the Prince stands atop a hillock to the northeast of town.

The Prince

Prince Caer is an exiled Fey Prince. His principal rule for inhabitants is simple: don’t cause trouble. Over the last century, he has focused on the local fauna and is believed to spend most of his time wandering the land as a great stag—prompting locals to halt deer hunting.
Previously, Prince Caer was obsessed with wizardry (the Wizard’s Tower still stands as a relic), and before that, he turned his attention to apiculture. The village of Seillean was established to house colossal beehives for gigantic, 70-pound bees. These bees, along with oversized hunting wasps from the northern swamps, now form part of the region’s magical defenses.

Landscape & Environment

Tèarmann Nàdair is a temperate deciduous rainforest, characterized by tall trees covered in green moss and tangled vines. Winters are mild, but persistent snow and rain can make travel challenging. The larger rivers remain ice-free year-round; smaller creeks and ponds freeze in winter.
The rivers run in deep rock channels 20 to 50 feet below the land around them. These rock faces are riddled with caves—home to countless bats. The landscape also features valuable mushrooms and flowers, prized as essential ingredients in both alchemical and magical crafts.
