Illyrianthe's Lament
Illyrianthe's Lament
“The Star That Left the Grove”
(Soft and wistful, meant to be sung with a lilting forest melody — pauses between verses like wind through leaves.)
Verse 1:
Beneath the boughs where starlight grew,
She walked in grace and silver hue.
Her voice was calm, her vow was flame,
Now only whispers speak her name.
Chorus:
Oh Aryarae, bright rider fair,
Why fade your song into the air?
The roots still wait, the wind still weaves—
But no step stirs among my leaves.
Verse 2:
Your blade once gleamed where rivers bend,
It guarded dawn, it called me friend.
Now starlight wanes where hope once shone,
And I must sing your name alone.
Chorus (repeat):
Oh Aryarae, bright rider fair,
Why fade your song into the air?
The grove still hums, the night still grieves—
For the soul that dreamed beneath my leaves.
Coda:
If your heart still rides beyond the rift,
Then let my song upon you drift.
Till roots and stars entwine anew,
And I wake to walk again with you.
