Blood Ax: Investigating the scene of Marvin Gilliam's murder

Investigating the scene of Marvin Gilliam’s murder

Before dawn of 8 Aers 530, Stephen McCale went to his small bakery on Ryan Street. Before opening up, something in the narrow alley between his bakery and the sail repair shop caught his eye. Stephen discovered the body of Marvin Gilliam lying face-down in a pool of blood, with a large elk-horn handled knife stuck in his neck. Stephen went to the Sheriff’s office to get the Sheriff or a deputy to the scene.

The large distinctive knife was recognized, it belonged to Nolan Hardin.

Above where the body of Marvin was found the gutter on the sail repair shop was broken. Two stories above the alley there are scuff marks on the roofing slates. It does appear that someone or something could have fallen or been pushed off the roof here.

Also on the roof is a broken cage, sized for carrying a small dog, a cat, or perhaps a bird. The wooden bottom of the cage has been separated from the metal mesh of the top and sides of the cage. The cage door is unlatched, the latch is missing.

There is a small tuft of light grey, almost white fur in the cage mesh.
