Plasma Rot Fly

Plasma Rot Fly

Inspiration: Mixing the larvae launching of Fallout Bloatflies, the plasma power of the Legendary Bloatfly, and the Cazador's venom, alarming speed, sort of design

Plasma Rot Fly: Flies that fire plasma balls essentially. Likely only for higher level and more advanced versions of said fly. Normally, it would fire its larvae at a victim, which burrow into the flesh and begin to feast. Should the target die or already be dead, a nest will begin to form. Certain monsters can resist the Rot Fly colonization for a time before keeling over from having its body eaten from around it.

Higher Level Rot Flies often have infested stronger corpses, such as glowing monsters of sorts or even just the right kind of waste. While their young don't often survive, being hit with what amounts to hot plasma balls is incredibly painful, and even worse if the larvae manage to burrow into the victim.

Probably have some form of bioplasma, to be explained later. To feed, Plasma Flies reduce their food to a sort of plasma it can ingest and derive nutrition from. They use the bioplasma to melt down food to be reabsorbed for nutrition, able to recycle the plasma somehow.

They have powerful muscles to launch their weaponized larvae.

Bioplasma: Somehow Rot Flies create a form of bioplasma. It uses this bioplasma to break down its victims, reabsorbing both the plasma for further use and the digested nutrition.

This bioplasma can be refined into plasma ammo.

Plasma Rot Fly Egg: Has a little bit of plasma in it. Creepily, it can be found on the corpses of victims, assuming they haven't been melted into a nasty sludge.

Nests: Rotflies make their nests out of corpses and bones, held together by sticky mass.
