Xiyanmitache (Zee-awn-mit-awj)

An ancient city built on the northern coast of the Isle of Necromancy. It had access to very advanced necromantic-magitech technology that worked off the abundant souls trapped on the isle. Eventually this technology developed to the point it could access the very fragmented souls that caused the Isle of Necromancy's spiritual issues, the same ones that made the necromancers that could bind these souls extremely powerful due to their ability to break or bypass a lot of the standard rules of magic.
Eventually, several thousand years ago, one of the necromantic workers maintaining the infrastructure to channel the spiritual energy for the civilization's use (sort of a inverted soul well/negative energy leyline version of a power line worker) channeled/was contacted by the very spiritual beings being controlled. That worker proceeded to be convinced/possessed to do their will.
The civilization was destroyed less than a day later when a glacier of soul ice blanketed the entire region, their souls destroyed and fractured by the very source of their power given a voice to channel their power and enact the spirits' revenge.
Ion Rathe Derguil then spent many hundreds of (or several thousand) years ruling the island as a protector and the perforce ruler, enforcing the will of the spirits to prevent their abuse, contain the knowledge that allowed it, and manage the necromancers, liches, and draco-liches seeking to uncover the Isle of Necromancy's secrets.
