Being born in the southern hemisphere, Marcus and his family were naturalized into the Southern Coalition when the planetary war divided into northern and southern superpowers.
Marcus has cybernetic implants installed in his eyes that augment his perception. He is able to see better than average, zoom, translate text, etc. The augmentations were performed by Stellaris Corp as reparations for a wartime casualty.
