Curse of stars

A sickness that begun spreading throughout the continent 153 years ago. The sickness is incredibly virulent to the degree that it is said that having someone that is infected simply look at you is enough to be infected. The sickness starts out by affecting the mind and more specifically the vision of the victim causing the early stages to induce visual hallucinations, a common hallucination is to see the sky as a wonderfully clear starlit sky no matter the actual wather state or time of day. This will often cause the infected to be infatuated with looking up at the sky, especially in later stages as their mind degrades. Then, in the final stages of the disease the inflicted will experience total insanity and their eyes will turn completely obsidian black with spots and dots of bright white cataracts, causing the eyes to resemble the starlit sky that has plagued the victim during the disease's progression.   In severe cases the disease can cause further physical mutations and a varying degree of aggression can usually be observed.   The disease became notorious for how difficult it is to cure and limit the spreading of, as no known means of mundane or magical cures seems to have any effect. Except of course the miracle cure "Cadaeceus' Rose" which yet proves highly effective.
