Scorched Legend

Written by HollowMoth16

Scorched Legend is a species of fish that thrive in the burning intensity of lava. These rare fish can swim through the hottest of lava with ease.

Behavior

Scorched Legends behave much like other fish, but there are some crucial differences that separate them from other fish, such as the obvious lava factor. They swim through the hot liquid in search of magma patches to feast on, which is their only food source. They possess teeth that can bite through even the toughest rocks, but they use them to chew the magma. Because of this, they have no competition besides others of their kind, but Scorched Legend's rarely cross paths with each other.

Origins

Scorched Legends are believed to have been made by Origon, the Dwarvish God of the Forge along with Dwarves, resulting in an unbroken connection between the two species. Because of this, they are sacred to the Dwarves of Redfall and are protected by guardians.

Importance to Dwarvish Culture

As stated earlier, Scorched Legends are believed to have been made by the Dwarvish God of the Forge, Origon. This means that they are an important part of Dwarvish Culture in Redfall. The Scorched Legend is an icon of Dwarves, and are celebrated at festivals related to Origon. Killing Scorched Legends is highly illegal and will lead to a hefty charge and jail time. This has resulted in a small black market for Scorched Legend roe and meat.

Physical Appearance

Scorched Legends strongly resemble Gars in their long cylindrical shape, but that's really the only thing that is similar about the two species. They have big buck teeth to help them chew up magma, and have big muscular tails to help them flow through the water. They have large, black, spherical eyes that have thick lenses over them to protect their eyes.
