Gentleman/Lady
A man or woman of good breeding, courteous behavior, and good conduct. Usually the term is applied to a member of the upper class who is independently wealthy (either by inheritance or regular allowance).
In the 1920s, such a person would certainly have had at least one servant (butler, valet, maid, chauffer) and probably a country and city residence. One does not necessarily have to be rich, as often family status is more important than family wealth in terms of the highest society.
