Lumír Horák

Lumír Horák is a freighter pilot in the employ of Phantom Queen Enterprises's transport division, responsible for navigating the Interstellar Highways between systems.

History

Born in 424 to a well-to-do family on Nemed in the Morrígan System, Lumír was enamoured with space flight from a very young age. Regularly taken on trips to accompany his pilot mother, he resolved to be just as good at it as her, and was enrolled at a pilot's school as soon as he was old enough. With a single-minded drive, he qualified for a pilot's license at 16, and received his interstellar flight qualifications only three years later.   He quickly found employment with the expansive Phantom Queen Enterprises on of their significant roster of freighter pilots, starting on the simple Morrígan-Dumas route. It was on his first visit to the neighbouring system that he met Gao Xue, a local hire of PQE who was tasked with flying the ship back. The two are said to have gotten on famously, and kept in regular contact when apart.   The two carried on a long-distance whirlwind of a romance, and were married only 2 years later, on the 6th of November 445. Granted leave for an exotic honeymoon in Odelia, Lumír committed to moving to Dumas rather than asking Xue to relocate, much to everyone's surprise. Following their marriage, the two have typically asked to be assigned to the same shifts on long runs, a request often granted. Therefore rarely actually present in Dumas, Lumír has nevertheless made an impression on locals on the Duman OnRamp as a deft hand willing to help throughout the station, rarely staying still.

Social Ties

Through his mother, Lumír has connections to both the professional and recreational piloting scene in Morrígan, with Alejna both flying for PQE and for a stunt squadron based off the planet Ernmas. His father Otakar operates in far more humble circles, running a chain of convenience stores in Ballitra. The youngest of three siblings, Lumír's older siblings Ema and Kája both work in these stores, though Kája also has her pilot's license and helps coordinate events for the stunt squadron.   Through his wife Gao Xue, Lumír is connected to the high-society of Satellite Plessis in Dumas, as well as the substantial business connections both her parents have throughout the system. He has not made a significant impression on Duman socialites himself, and as a whole has preferred to interact with 'regular people' aboard the OnRamp instead.
