The Fates

Manifestation

The Fates are non-corporeal beings rarely seen by mortal eyes. They are ever twisting and changing in form, and often look different to the same individuals. Detecting them through typical means also is extremely difficult, as they do not appear on photographs, video, or audio recordings in a consistent manner, oftentimes only detected as massive surges in magic. It is believed by some that the fates are not fully manifested into the world or even the same plane of existence as physical beings, instead inhabiting Limbo or perhaps some other realm. Despite this, they can interact with the physical world to a degree, though rather primarily interact with it through the pantheon and their agents. The Fates are invisible to most peoples, except for under specific conditions. Shia's Dead, those bound to Shia or Mora, the nearly dead, and those in areas steeped in extraordinarily powerful magics may see or hear them briefly. Its believed that the Omnia may be able to see them with more clarity than other mortals, more similarly to the gods, and unknown if the dragons are able to see and interact with them.   Fates will almost always only show themselves and communicate with the pantheon themselves, with nearly all instances of them elsewhere appearing to primarily be by accident. Certain locations, such as the temples and shrines of gods, magic wellsprings, as well as Limbo's Crossing have had far higher reports of Fates appearing, as well as not fleeing from mortals.   They are a constant presence around the Majors, seemingly doing the will of Shia and Mora, though will often come to the Minors as well. It is said by the pantheon that the Fates are troublesome, though not evil, as they constantly whisper and tell tale of potential futures, abandoned pasts, and new outcomes but never divulge what they actually truly mean or what is certain to come to pass.   Fates know no boundary of language, distance, or barrier- their words, when they wish to speak, will always be heard and understood with perfect clarity in their direct words, but the meaning behind them is often shrouded.

Localization

It is far more common to encounter these beings around areas of worship for the pantheon, as it is thought they may act as messengers or liaisons for Shia and Mora. Limbo's Crossing in particular, as well as the gods' meeting places, reportedly are teeming with the strange beings in their day to day, far more than other areas.   Since the destruction of Limbo's Crossing by Hilathu and Batterion, the region has reportedly been swarming with Fates in a frenzy, constantly whispering cluttered words that oddly, make even less sense than their normal utterances.
