Divine beings, or simply, the divine, is a broad category consisting of all creatures and people descended from
Gods. Although not all beings born to gods are gods themselves, or go on to create a new race, divine beings typically are highly intelligent with extreme skill in magic that defying logic, also have a rather high resistance to it. Divine beings are also in most cases larger than their non-divine counterparts.
Main Types
Races
All races that are descended from a god are considered divine beings, although due to booms in population and genetic diversity, members of these races often have such low divinity that they are indistinguishable from all other mortals. Rather than this classification being used to define magical prowess or strength, it is used
Demigods
Demigods are inherently divine, as they are all descendants of at least one god, without being named their heir. Demigods are direct descendants of their divine parent, and thus have a much higher divinity and often have traits not found in other mortals. Despite their divinity, the vast majority of demigods are often mortal themselves, living lengthened lifespans, but are still able to be killed, succumb to disease, and die of old age.
Divine Beasts
Divine beasts are a class of demigod- animals that are descendants of the gods. Divine beasts are often, though not always, much more intelligent than ordinary animals and often have great magic capabilities. Many divine beasts are able to speak through a similar magic as the gods themselves and can be understood regardless of language barriers. Divine beasts often identify themselves as their species, rather than as something different from the rest of their kin.
Special Cases
Heirs
A god's heir is a special case of divine being. As a god's heir does not have to be a demigod and can be chosen from any mortal, sapient or animal, they are thought to be made into divine beings by a process only known to Shia and Mora. Any person or animal chosen by a god can become the god's heir, and are not classified as such until their status is declared to the Pantheon. What processes are needed to turn a mortal divine are unknown.
