Cult of the Worldeater
Structure
The group is largely informal so far, with no clear power structure, leader, or dedicated high priests. Those who have so far claimed to be in such positions have quickly been ousted from the group or seemingly sunning until brought back into line. This, notably, is quite strange in comparison to many of the gods' cults which have a much more formal structure, goal, and leadership. Although many of the group have declared Batterion their leader as well as center of worship, they also acknowledge that the dragon has never acknowledged the group or communicated with them, aside from taking advantage of bodies or cacasses left in his path to feed upon.
Culture
As a new religious movement, very little is known about the cult, their culture, and their ideals. This movement is known however to primarily believe that Batterion is the true god of death, rather than Shia, the God of Death or even Hilathu, and in opposition to Hilathu's Cult.
Members of the group have stated that due to the destruction of Limbo's Crossing by Batterion, The Shattering of Limbo, and apparent breaking of the cycle of life and death as well as Hilathu's apparent lack of control over the dragon, his position as one of (if not the) most powerful beings on Terra is clear. Although the group doesn't outright oppose Shia's Cult, they do discourage worship of Shia due to the belief that Shia is not a proper death god, not having the power to control Batterion and to have allowed Batterion to rise and Hilathu's betrayal.
Among the group, Batterion himself is not viewed as being particularly benevolent or malevolent, but instead indifferent to mortal life. His extreme brutality to other dragons has been interpreted as him retaining memories from life as well as deep hatred for those responsible for his death, and seeking revenge. This is despite a lack of true communication with Batterion himself.
Public Agenda
The primary goal of the organization is to raise Batterion as the new god of death, replacing Shia and ousting Hilathu's attempts to dismantle the pantheon entirely.
Much of the reasoning behind replacing Shia as the god of Death has been an organic movement, with most claiming that the current death god is unfit for allowing the destruction of Limbo, inability to prevent Hilathu's betrayal, or apparent control over the situation resulting from it. Those who have begun worshiping Batterion claim that they are uncertain if the dragon can maintain such control either, but believe that any change in power other than Shia, Hilathu, or Neia is favorable compared to doing nothing, or worse, maintaining the status quo. Similarly, the group oppose Hilathu and his allies such as Neia for their attempts to dismantle and repurpose the pantheon, as well as their roles in causing the disaster at Limbo's Crossing.
In particular, the group primarily blames Hilathu for his role in breaking the cycle of life and death, as well as the betrayal of many gods to the pantheon as a whole. While not unexpected, they have been some of the most vocal in opposing the fallen serpent as well as some of the most proactive to date. Their opposition of Hilathu's forces has taken many forms, mainly through the spread of information on known members, their movements, and immediate goals. Despite opposition to Shia, the group has also been working in tandem with the rest of the pantheon, including Mora, The God of Life, to directly combat Hilathu's forces and supporters on the battlefield and lessen the effects of their damage.
