Boon of Finchesong

Effect

While active, the person bestowed with the boon is heard in perfect clarity and pitch, with no faults in their range when singing. The user's voice will become as they wish for it to, allowing for perfect mimicry of another's voice or to replicate certain songs. In some cases of those familiar with the boon, it can also be used to one person to sing in multiple roles at once. Users of the boon also do not tire from singing and will not suffer harm from doing so for extended periods.

Side/Secondary Effects

While the boon is active, it manifests a number of Divine Runic symbols on the skin over the user's voice box, most commonly being the wind, soul, and flight runes. This manifestation was not always the case, however, and only implemented after Fiona, God of Goldfinches, learned of others using the boon to cheat in singing competitions. The runes cannot be covered or masked with clothing or makeup as a result if one wishes to use the boon.   The boon cannot be used in tandem with any given by Appylon by design, due to both gods designing their boons to conflict with and nullify those from their rival.

Source

The boon is directly granted by the god of finches, Fiona, to her followers or those who earn her favor and ask for it specifically. It is most commonly given to her own priests for the purposes of reciting songs of her cult in worship. She has, on occasion, given it to mortal musicians and singers who have lost their voices or as a way to hone their skills. It has become far less common for her to give the boon without reason due to mortals using it to cheat in competitions, hence its more recent change making the boon's use indicated visually.   During the War of the Moon, Fiona began to grant a similar but likely different boon to the pantheon's forces in tandem with Appylon, particularly to those using incantation based spellwork, prayers, and songs to assist in the war effort. Due to that the more recently seen boon does not conflict with those granted by Appylon, her long time rival, many speculate that she, Appylon, or both have either temporarily removed the restrictions from their own boons, or have been granting different boons entirely. Either way, the effect is much the same as the more well known and traditionally known boon.
