Actions Against Mortals By The Gods

Curses

Bearing a curse done by a god is a much more common punishment from the divine, many of the curses varying in strength. Many are often simple hinderances in daily life to serve as a reminder for mortals to not spite the divine, although some are fashioned in such a way that they are an unwinnable game with the only possible outcome being a slow death.

Hikaru

Hikaru is well known for her curses bringing trouble to mortals, particularly men.

Curse of the Mouse

Curse of the Mouse is a favorite curse for Hikaru to deal out to mortals as a punishment, most often for being rude to her. Often, she will give out this curse after performing a test to see how willing to help others people are, posing as an old woman in need of increasing care and hospitality if allowed to stay for a period of time. Those who fail her test by kicking her out, refusing to accommodate her, or take advantage of her in the form of an old woman will be turned into mice and Hikaru will often chase them, acting as if she will eat them until they beg for forgiveness and promise to change their ways. Another common scenario that Hikaru will use it is when dealing with sexist men, turning those who dismiss her or other women into mice and forcing them to run away from the moral women they scorned as they try to kill them with traps and poisons. Occasionally, however, Hikaru will turn a target of her ire into a mouse just to eat them.

Shape of the Soul

Shape of the Soul is a curse exclusively known to be used by Hikaru to transform a target's body into something different. In the context of being a curse, it is often used to change those with deep prejudice into those they hate as a form of punishment, forcing them to live the rest of their life as the target of their hate. Usually, Hikaru will use this as a way to punish sexist men.

Murders

The Gods make their power known to mortals through their every action, but no action is perhaps as dramatic and telling of the times the divine have killed mortals for their slights. Killing a mortal is not something done lightly by the gods outside of war, and killings done during war are not counted here due to their commonality, and that declaring war on a god has the only expected outcome of death.   The Gods do not seem to favor killing those who have wronged them as a punishment when it comes to mortals, despite the act being so common when another deity is concerned.

Ferventi

As a god of violence and the most untamed of such, one would expect killings done by Ferventi, God of Wolves to be much more common than they are, but the startlingly few the wolf god has killed makes those who have met death at his fangs all the more chilling. All murders committed by Ferventi follow only the most reprehensible acts against him and his kin, with very few who mourn those who brought the act upon themselves after repeated attempts by Ferventi himself to bring the conflict to an end and allow the victim to reconcile and repent.   One such murder committed by Ferventi is one of the most well known for the god having killed one of his own priests- One would think that those belonging to his own cult would earn a person immunity from his ire, but not is the case when one harms the wolf god's own family. Name lost to time, the priest had earned a reputation for harassing women among Ferventi's cult and priesthood, and his folly was in laying a hand on Ferventi's own mate.   In another case, Ferventi himself killed three individuals from within his own cult due to the abuse of one of their children. Details surrounding the case are few and far between, but rumors have circulated for years that accuse the individuals of numerous crimes, such as physical and sexual abuse of the child. The parents as well as one grandparent were killed by the wolf god, and their bodies hung from one of his shrines in the Land of Gods until they fell, and were then buried and presented to Shia.   One of the most well known murders committed by any god also belongs to Ferventi- that of Arwilsh Jacobs, a governor of Louisiana in 18,236. Awilsh had mobilized police and anti-riot forces post election due to concerns of riots and protests during his time as governor, which stemmed from systematic corruption in Louisiana's governmental systems. These forces routinely brutalized, attacked, and unlawfully arrested civilians, and it is rumored that the governor had called upon Ferventi himself to 'do war' with the rioters. His body was found the following day, undoubtedly killed by Ferventi himself due to the size of his wounds.

Svrar

The goddess of tigers has numerous murders attributed to xem, however, many have been classified as acts of war. One case in particular remains classified as murder, rather than war- that of Benjamen Stridde, boyfriend of xir rival, Soliairs Taeyang. This matter is, however, hotly debated.

Soliairs

The goddess of cranes is perhaps one of the most prolific murderers among the pantheon if records are to be believed. Soliairs' raids on cruise ships within the Pacific are well known to end in fire fights when the ships do not surrender, and when finally overcome, generally end with the god or their right hand, Benjamen, executing their captains.

Other Acts

Soliairs

A common act by Soliairs is to raid and steal ships from mortals, in particular cruise and gambling ships. It is a well known danger that the god often will damage, destroy, and sink ships of those who have scorned them and refused to surrender. Many of these ships are often littered around Shanai's borders and sunk to act as coral reefs, according to official records, but often have in private been reportedly sunk out of spite. A brief list of these ships is as follows:   Wanderer's Dream- Cruise liner. Sunk due to captain refusing surrender.   The Underfoot- Sloop. Sunk reportedly due to extensive damage during commandeering. In private was reportedly sunk due to 'asshole crew'.   81-CA Battleship- Commandeered, sunk, then raised and commandeered again. Renamed and repurposed as the Temple of the Crane.   "Red Wench"- Unknown ship type, reportedly intentionally sunk after execution of the captain by Soliairs' crew.   Panama Cruise 840- Intentionally sunk following raid with extensive damage due to repair cost.   1820 "Geisha" Cruise Liner- Cruise liner. Intentionally sunk as reportedly captain attempted to give passengers as hostages to Soliairs in exchange for their own safety. Notably, total loss of the ship rather than simply sunk.
