Energy Beings
Energy Beings are the Lesser Aberrants of the
Shaper of Energy, and like their patron Power, were only properly documented in the 20th century.
They are beings of pure energy, and are often compared to the
Elementals of the Primordials as a whole due to their similarities. The Electricity Energy Beings are in fact almost indistinguishable from the Lightning Elementals.
The term Energy Beings covers all of the Lesser Aberrants of Energy, both the weaker Servitors and the stronger Servants as well as the different Aspects of Energy.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Their bodies are made of pure energy, hence why they were called Energy Beings by the researchers tasked with looking into them. Like the elementals, they can choose to look humanoid if they bothered to try.
Genetics and Reproduction
Servitor Energy Beings are born from excessive energy of a particular Aspect of Energy in an environment. Light and noise pollution for example give birth to Light and Sound Energy Beings. Another relatively common way to meet this condition is when Servant Energy Beings rampage in a particular location. Very rarely, powerful Sparks, those that reach the status of Nightmares, can inherently release excessive energy and create numerous Servitor Energy Beings that way.
The Servant Energy Beings needs to be summoned through the appropriate rituals, and due to the relatively recent discovery of the Shaper of Energy, spellbooks allowing one to learn the right spells are rare.
Ecology and Habitats
Light and Sound Energy Beings are commonly found in cities and their
Alternates due to all the light and noise pollution. Nuclear Energy Beings can be found near nuclear power plants. Electrical Energy Beings can be found near all power plants. Heat Energy Beings can be found near volcanoes and other hot places.
Behaviour
Similarly to the Elementals of the Primordials, they exist to spread the Aspect of Energy they represent. The best case scenario is that the Energy Beings allow themselves to be used as a power source for Initiates. It is however, not uncommon for Energy Beings to cause all sorts of trouble to spread the domain of the Shaper of Energy. The worst case scenario, which thankfully hasn't happened yet, is when several Servant-level Nuclear Energy Beings come together and cause an apocalyptic, world-ending nuclear disaster.
Additional Information
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Chernobyl is the home of the largest group of Nuclear Energy Beings in the world. It is unknown whether they were born from the nuclear disaster, or were the ones that caused it.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Energy Being can innately feel the energy of their Aspect, and it is only through this that they can perceive the world. For example, Light Energy Beings lack identifiable eyes but have the best sight of the Energy Beings due to their great understanding of light. For another example, the Sound Energy Beings can only perceive the world through sound, but have the best hearing of all the varied Energy Beings to compensate.
Civilization and Culture
History
After the
UN Supernatural Security Committee was formed and the Subcommittee of Threat Monitoring established, the subcommittee noticed from going over the reports provided by the member bodies that what were believed to be Greater Aberrants by the individual National Agencies are in fact appearing all over the world.
When this was discovered, a task force was quickly put together to research the oddity. After months of investigation, the task force confirmed beyond all doubt the discovery of the Lesser Aberrants tied to the recently confirmed Shaper of Energy. It was then that the term Energy Beings were coined.
