More people have discovered this new world; seeking adventure, seeking exploration, seeking wonderment, and even some seeking refuge. Permanent residences are beginning to be built and used.
During the height of the gold rush, many cities near the mineral-rich mountain caves experienced a boom in their economies. Later, many of these cities would become ghost towns once all the easy to extract minerals and gems had been mined dry.
Some cities continued to grow by adapting or digging even deeper mines. One such example is the city of Cappleton. The dwarves living here turned to dig deeper into the mountain and expand their trade of manufactured goods.
The history of the Sylvaranth family began with an ambitious half-elven merchant by the name of Hughnin Sylvaranth arriving in Gatestone in 28 AD via extraplanar travel, Hughnin had sought to take his wealth to a new frontier and seek opportunity. Hughnin quickly picked up on the kindling mining industry in the First Valley, he bought a plot of land at the base of Crasta Mora and established his own colony of miners to begin digging for precious gems and metals.
Following a slew of droughts, in 42 AD the clergy in Gatestone took control of administration of the city.
