Qulvir

History

Ancestry & Origins

The majestic Qulvir, descendants of the Ruminar subcontinent nestled between Kleriel in the east and Avallon in the west, bear a strong resemblance to bovines. Towering figures, they possess digitigrade legs ending in powerful hooves, and their heads are adorned with an array of magnificent horns that hint at their individual lineage and stature. Their homeland, a tapestry of northern steppes giving way to lush southern grasslands, is punctuated by minor mountain chains and consists of three dominant peninsulas.

Historical Eras

Era of Peace & Subjugation:

Initially, the Qulvir epitomized tranquility, their pastoral lifestyle a harmonious symphony with nature. However, their serenity was mistaken for vulnerability. Their first test arrived in the form of the Kleriel Imperium Elves, who rather than annexing the vast expanses of Ruminar, opted for subjugation. Outmatched and outclassed by the godlike Elves at the time, the tribal Qulvir found themselves enslaved. Some were even migrated westwards in to current day Kassaria, which was to be Kleriel's breadbasket.

Reclamation & New Threats:

The Cataclysm that shattered the Kleriel Imperium gifted the Qulvir their freedom. But it was a fleeting reprieve. The Great Migrations brought forth the Nemedi and Slaya Humans from the north and across the Messial mountains, who misconstrued the Qulvir as monstrous creations of the Elves. While their Ruminar homeland remained relatively unscathed, their kin in Kassaria faced annihilation or exile.

Struggles of the 3rd World:

As the Qulvir grappled with their newfound autonomy, Wolvendom of Avallon posed continuous threats. They suffered constant raids with their people being abducted and used as literal cattle, exploited for slave labour or even slaughtered for food. Despite initially being victims, the Qulvir evolved into formidable warriors, pushing back against their aggressors. Just when they appeared poised to solidify their strength, the relentless advance of the Drakkin Dominion consumed them. Their robust physiques once again became instruments of labor in the Dominion, but their misery and humiiation culminated in the cruelty of the Magi Purge during the War of the Storm King.

Rise of the Myune:

The fall of the Storm King heralded a resurgence for the Qulvir. Their collective memories scarred, they prioritized militarism, amassing weapons and solidifying borders. From this newfound vigor emerged The Myune empire, a testament to their resilience. Pledging to "break all the world's chains", the Qulvir embarked on a journey of liberation, raiding and outright invading their neigbours in an attempt to free them, even from themselves, and vowing to never be subjugated again.
